Unconventional legions with which to wage war
- Shape your strategy by choosing your roster wisely: starting, support, and super-predator legions.
- Upgrade your nest’s tier to access new and stronger legions. Will you opt for the defensive Snail or the mobility of the Rhino Beetles?
Special abilities for victory
- Scare the enemy away, reinforce your units, or spy on your opponents: your chosen pheromones forge your offensive—or defensive—strategy.
Conquer and upgrade outposts

Fascinating game, cool concept of being the general and controlling your armies and taking over nest, the story is very good and cant wait to try co-op and multiplayer.3 found this helpful
Got this to play in co-op and it was quite disappointing, 2vs2 AI co-op even set to the "easiest" the AI still feels over tuned and leads to a frustrating and boring snowball that feels oppressive. We also tried the Horde Mode and whilst it was slightly more enjoyable after a 30 minute run it still felt like there wasn't much more to see or do. Overall I cannot recommend this game.2 found this helpful
I love being an ant commander. game is really great! Best game ever never gonna stop playing.
Empire of Ants was a game I was really looking forward to because it looked unique. It does have a cool premises but ultimately falls flat after a few short hours. I lost interest and to be brutally honest, there isn't much to do. You can explore (which isn't very interest), command armies of ants (a very basic RTS) or play a platformer game (this is also part of the exploring process). The game looks gorgeous, but it still manages to feel lifeless and boring despite being surrounded by millions of ants and other bugs. It's simply missing a core loop gameplay that is fun. As far as multiplayer, I didn't get a chance to play coop but I have no doubt it's more of the same as playing solo. Best thing to do for this game is buy it on sale or don't buy it at all.
