This isn't great. It starts off kinda promising, progress is slow but rewarding. The drill gets handed way too early, and it drains the battery very fast. Diamond and platinum also appear far too early, and you max out all your upgrades within an hour. The fact that you can max out upgrades and see the costs for the next upgrade got me excited for a 2nd page of upgrades, but it was disappointing when I learned that you could not. Reaching the abyss was also disappointing; the achievement doesn't lie, it is simply an abyss. Performance is awful, with no graphics options, there's screen tearing, and the hole is constantly popping in and out, not to mention that the lighting is completely useless, as you will always have light all the way down to the abyss. Seems like a rushed game to jump on the hole-digging hype.

kinda fascinating how a game can be so lazy put together and look so bad it's not even worth 5€.

satisfies the itch of digging holes on an alien planet. however: - not enough upgrades, or the upgrades are poorly balanced so max doesn't feel like a huge increase in power. especially the jetpack function. still uses too much battery, along with digging. the ability to dig as deep as you are makes the upgrades frustrating when they hit max. - many ore texture/coloring issues. why is gold pitch black? i dunno. - the game is bright enough to never need a single light, making lights seem uhh.. pointless. - literally no explanation on what the achievements are for. i don't normally achievement hunt but when i do i'd like to know what kind of progress i need to make to reach one. - mines ? mines???? mines ? ? ? there are apparently mines? i have not come across a single mine in the game and i've been digging around for a while. i refuse to believe that my procedural hole did not generate any mines. silly. - functionally no end game, despite there being a bottom of the world. - the dangers are just pockets of gas and/or radiation? we are on an alien planet.. where is the alien flora and fauna? - max upgrades on the black market still make it go out of signal range for way too long. co…

Not bad so far, upgrades felt meaningful and were afforded on a nice curve. actually liked the higher tier shovels better than digging hole game. the current end game got a good chuckle. not a bad way to kill a few hours, hope to see more added.

I think that the reviews are a little harsh and misleading. I haven't played that long yet but haven't had problems with the hud layout or controls. My only complaint is having to press the trigger instead of holding it to dig. FYI Works fine on steamdeck and controller.
