LumenTale: Memories of Trey

Took Me Around 3 Hours To Get through the first 2 important fights while exploring and leveling up and still was getting one shot even at 4 levels higher than the fights with boosts on. I'm on the base difficulty that the game puts you on. This game is no where near beginner friendly and most likely need to look up guides if you want to play the game without over leveling way too much.

I'm past the halfway point and I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews so I just want to say the following: 1. Seeing a lot of complaints about the self-contained plots in each town. The story is episodic in nature. That is the point. I don't see an issue with it. Pair that with the overarching question of who Trey is (which I will eventually learn after completing the the last matches), I feel the story is totally serviceable. 2. The creature and character designs are fantastic. Those artists absolutely deserve a raise. Love the art in this game in general. 3. The 4v4 battle system is really cool and complex! I would definitely be interested in seeing how competitive players build their teams for tournaments. 4. MURIBANG IS REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING IN THE OVERWORLD. A fun gimmick, but make sure you've got your Repels cooking I guess lol 5. Some of these evolution requirements are genuinely diabolical, especially when they don't outline them directly in the in-game AniWiki. Sometimes, in the case of animon like Cadedro, they just straight up don't work (WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT HAS TO BE IN *LIGHT* RAIN!?) 6. decent little game the most standout part is the morality system

The only issue I am having honestly with the game are the few things that I thought would have priority over announcing a release for other console's. I know there were many bugs and soft locks when launch came through for PC. Switch had their own set of issues while sharing the ones PC had. Unfortunately, the Switch still has many/new issues that need to be addressed. As for the many complaints from prior reviews, I understand it as there isn't always something so clear that gives us a reason outside of our own curiosity to certain things in the world. A solution I think that COULD smooth SOME things out for when it comes to Animon is a Library or a bookshelf that gives hints for the Animon or gives you the answer on how to evolve it. I do know the board does this already but, it requires you to progress through the game before a lot of the information is revealed to you while the Animon have or have the potential of being obtained already. Not having all the Lost forms also did not make sense to me with a FULL release. In regards to the grind.. I don't see how it is any more than any other JRPG. Great game! good story and would recommend for others to play!

The game is fun and beautiful BUT it is tedious af, the spawn rate of some animon is disgustingly low, not to mention the obscure evolution methods for some animon. Luckily I have not encountered any bug, but the devs need to rethink what they were going for. Everyone has a limited amount of time, no one should spend hours trying to find some monsters, big no no, especially since most players are not children and have things to do. Also, the game could use some more creatures, like 20ish more, and they should be spread more equally cause why am I encountering ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ smellwings throughout all the game? 5/10.
