But now we have some real fun, drifting and racing in VR with your friends or against other people. Or worst of all... Yourself. For single-player, you can race against bots or other players who have already completed the track under a certain time (unsure of this). And by finishing the track within a certain time count, you can earn more money from it, which you can use to either upgrade the parts of your car or purchase new skins for your helmet, gloves, or the body of the car. Finishing a track will unlock the next map in line, and with any map, the player can choose what difficulty they want to drive on, which I think just puts more laps required to finish. EXOcars contains a bunch of different maps, allowing you to drift around, have fun, and race your own time and your friends. As well as upgrading your car and making it faster, sturdier, and cooler. Awesome idea! Not executed as well as you would expect. great graphics, love the menu and how it works, the driving doesn't seem coded well. For example. the hand brake should completely stop the wheels, and force a drift and not slow them and cause you to counter-spin or just slow depending on your speed. It also seems like reverse actually acts as a better handbrake the the actual handbrake. Also it's missing some control details. come on you have a nice looking game that doesn't look half bad at all, but doesn't have nice physics. Grip is better on pavement than in dirt. Yet you drift immediately on pavement. I instinctively tried doing a wheelie in training because of the pavement as well, trying to experiment with the physics, but they seem shallow. The hand brake needs to have a slightly bigger collision box for your hands as well. I keep barely missing it, and I've played quite a few VR games by now. In short, it's got too much polish for it's current physics and controls. switch the handbrake and reverse mechanics, maybe play with different weight values until you get something fun, maybe even step away from simulation if that means it'll be fun instead, not saying this isn…3 found this helpful
This is a fantastic game. I'm about half way through the game. I was looking for a more arcade like game for using my steering wheel on the PC; one without a big learning curve. So far out of 4 PC VR games I've played with steering wheel, I like this one the best. For some reason the tuning/upgrades screen only sometimes displays in the career mode but mostly doesn't and I haven't figured out why. I learned that if its not there that I need to go to the training screen and it seems to always be there. I don't know why there are several people saying this game wasn't that great; I don't know what they are talking about.2 found this helpful
I wish this was more popular. If you have a wheel it's fun as heck. Closest thing we have to Twisted Metal VR in Arena mode. UI and Visuals are also super underrated.1 found this helpful
Very good VR arcade game racing, very polished and optmized, I've found no bugs. Compatible with g29 wheel. GIves Jak X CR vibes. Arena mode is amazing.
I'll admit it was hard to get the controls right, but it's all behind me. hopefully played a little bit. met advantages and disadvantages. thought long and hard about what grade to give it. Okay. What do you think of the lighthouse??? should not be perceived as EXOcars despite the fact that there are moving elements like shock absorbers.... that was a surprise to me. But still... it's just an arcade game. with still weak optimization. So what i decided? i decided that i'm not happy with the way the game is now. it's not ready in the way i expected it to be. it probably sounds too naive, but i'd like to wait a while before i go back and check it out again. today's update gives me hope....
