About Galaxy Race
Galaxy Race is a VR sports game in which the player takes control of one of a handful original and colorful characters. Equipped with GraviDecks - a futuristic high tech hooverboards, the Graviators race against each other on various tracks somewhere in a galaxy.
Beside beautiful sights, tracks also consist lots of pickups giving the player access to throwing discs, mines, shields, power boosts, accelerators etc. Collecting these bring the player one step closer to the victory.
This game encourages players to use their motion in a fluid way. A right mixture of body balance and cunning will be essential. Our original and very attractive “GraviMotion” steering system is a completely new and smooth way to control your avatar in virtual reality.
Last mission didn’t end according to plan. Now thinking about never doing a quest with Gourrian again she heard a radio transmission. "Are you into breakthrough technology? Mount a GraviDeck, race against other Graviators!" Tired with searching for hidden treasures and solving environmental puzzles, Margia applied for the Galaxy Race Tournment.
A broke and careless adventurer whose last mission did not end quite according to plan.
Now searching for a new quest he noticed a peculiar note "A new adventure awaits! Be the first to become a Master Graviator! Get the GraviDeck and race across galaxy!" Tired with killing rats and smashing barrels, Gourrian applied for the Galaxy Race Tournament.
Hiding in the Thieves Den and looking for a way to go off the radar for a while she got a message from an old friend. "Look what I've found, an official GraviDevk race! You used to be good with skateboards, these kids won't even know what hit them!" Tired with picking locks and sneaking through vents, Piro applied for the Galaxy Race Tournament.
Taking a long deserved break at a local Inn, Sawinar overheard a couple gossips. "Yeah! They, like, give you this hoovering board man and, like, teleport you to different places around the galaxy where you.. it's like a race... with WEAPONS!". Tired with grinding and the taste of mana potions, Sawinar applied for the Galaxy Race Tournament.

You can watch my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/x0SYKNaB5yg
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Galaxy Race VR is so boring to play that compared to it, Sprint Vector should be VR Game of the Decade. This is a case where less is A LOT less. So even though Sprint Vector costs considerably more, it feels like a bargain compared to this mess. Luckily, I got this game in a VR bundle (cough indie cough gala) for about .50 cents USD. This game currently feels like a demo. There are only 3 tracks on arcade mode. There is no campaign mode, there is no multiplayer, there are no other modes other than the tutorial. The game ran smoothly most of the time, but I did notice some random frame rate drops and stutters in my about 45 minutes of play time. I also experienced this bizarre bug where my racing disc just stopped mid-race and wouldn't move forward (I finally was able to make it go backwards and move sideways to get into an area that allowed me to go forward). I found the racing to be dull & uninspired. I don't know why, but I had to lean forward way forward to get the acceleration going at full speed. This made most of the game for me just looking …1 found this helpful
Galaxy Race, developed and published by Magic VR, is a futuristic VR-exclusive racing title that places players on hoverboard-like vehicles known as GraviDecks and propels them through neon-lit tracks across an intergalactic setting. The concept is immediately appealing to fans of sci-fi and virtual reality, blending elements of high-speed racing with arcade-style chaos. With power-ups, traps, and fast maneuvering all forming core parts of the experience, Galaxy Race strives to deliver adrenaline-fueled competition in a genre that’s still relatively underrepresented in VR. However, its ambitions are not always matched by execution, and while there’s some enjoyment to be found, the game often stumbles in its delivery. From a visual standpoint, the game presents a serviceable—if not particularly groundbreaking—aesthetic. Tracks are vibrantly colored, with stylized sci-fi backdrops and flashing indicators that attempt to communicate speed and danger. The environments include space-themed corridors, planetary landscapes, and glowing tunnels that offer a decent sense of immersion. That said, the graphical fidelity doesn’t always meet the standard that many VR players might expect. Text…
Good game! Not enough contents but what's there is enjoyable. You can turn while strafing and do all those Wipeout things.
I cannot recommend it as a full game. Only single player after 2 years, still no updates. Absolutely lacking content, it's only 3 tracks long. But what it does do is prove that you can have fast motion in a VR game without instant nausea. I don't know how they do it, My guess is the whole, "using your body like a control stick" somehow fools your inner ear. Or at least it fooled mine. So it still gets a thumbs up from me, but only if you go into it knowing what you're getting.
The tutorial was fun. but the game itself has NOTHING of what's promised here/ the tutorial, no charecters, the campaign doesn't actually work, and all the races are the same
Game mechanics need polish to be playable. Good start if they can make controls more simple would be a fine game for some but mostly unplayable at this stage. Update needed!
