Face on Fire

"Face on Fire" is a 2D retro pixel platformer, one of many thousands on Steam, except slightly worse than the rest of them with primitive graphics (even for pixel "art"). There is a lot of content here, a lot of effort went into that, but unfortunately more of a bad thing doesn't make it better, it makes it worse. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Простая, но увлекательная механика, где нужно быстро реагировать на изменяющиеся выражения лица и вовремя касаться экрана, чтобы не "сгореть", поначалу кажется очень легкой, но с каждым новым уровнем сложность растет в геометрической прогрессии. Графика минималистична, но приятна глазу, а музыкальное сопровождение бодрое и не отвлекает от игрового процесса. Отлично подходит для коротких перерывов, когда нужно быстро отвлечься и немного размять пальцы. Единственный минус - довольно однообразный геймплей, который со временем может наскучить, но разработчики регулярно добавляют новые уровни и фишки, поэтому интерес поддерживается. В целом, отличная игра, чтобы проверить свою реакцию и поднять себе настроение, но на длительные игровые сессии рассчитывать не стоит. Рекомендую для тех, кто ищет простой и веселый способ скоротать время.

Very fun and relaxing game. The gameplay is very friendly and levels have diverse mechanics to avoid feeling repetitive. There is room for improvements though. If the developer is releasing an update, I would suggest adding levels with different color theme. EX: Green = poison, red = Lava, Gray = mud, etc. I have not finished all the levels (yet), so if already added nevermind then.

Good times. More or less a classic DigDug type thing, except you're on fire the entire time, which is fun. Looking forward to what the developer comes up with next.

Cute character; nice music; interesting levels. Watch out for level 7 !
