About False Skies
✦ AI summary
False Skies is a classic turn-based RPG where you build a custom party from eight distinct classes and layer new classes onto them as you progress, keeping all previous skills and stats while discovering hidden class data throughout the world. Explore over a dozen dungeons filled with 300+ enemy types and engage in fast-paced tactical battles where smart skill selection and enemy positioning are critical, with zero equipment restrictions letting you experiment freely.

It has been 2000 years since the stars fell from the night sky.
To see them in this place... what does this mean for us?
_____________
The throne room of a long-forgotten ruin lies ransacked. Communication is lost, monsters run rampant across the land, and ships that leave the safety of the shore are quickly sunk. And among all this, rumors of a group of strange horned people, hailing from a city that vanished millennia ago, are quickly spreading...
_____________
False Skies is a classic RPG with fast-paced, turn-based battles and an involved class system.
Features:
- Create a party with any combination of 8 distinct classes.
- ...and, when the time comes, layer on new classes! Each of the four tiers has its own set of 8 classes to choose from, with no restrictions on what classes can be chosen.
- No equipment restrictions! Go put that sword on your mage - but be aware that it might not be the best idea to do so.
- Explore well over a dozen dungeons, encounter over 300 types of enemies, and associate with a varied cast of characters as you travel the world.
- Enjoy many quality of life features, such as reduced penalties for falling in battle and obsolete skills being replaced.
The Battle System

False Skies employs a simple, traditional, and fast battle system. With clever and effective skill selection, your foes shall fall fast - but you'll sustain heavy damage in return if you're not careful, especially if you hit with attacks that are readily countered by whatever you're facing.
The Class System

At certain points throughout your journey, you'll get the chance for your party members to change class. Each class comes with its own unique traits, whether it be what skills they learn, how strong their stat growths are, or equipment they can use effectively. Furthermore, each new class layers onto your older ones, with your party members keeping all their old skills and stats intact.
While a few classes will be available for you to change into immediately, data on most of them are scattered around the world. Go off the beaten path, and you shall be rewarded...

A damn good JRPG game made by someone who clearly understands the appeal of these types of games by the people who played them growing up. My only regret is I only discovered this during the current summer sale on a random post mentioning it and didn't pay full price for it, because this kind of thing is clearly made for me. I wish I knew about it when it first came out. I will buy something like this day 1 at full price every time if I know it exists. Please make another game.
Wonderful classic experience! So many RPG Maker projects and other misc stuff in this vein that totally misses the mark compared to this. Immaculate aesthetic, cute script, and satisfying combat/exploration. Everything you want in a NES-era RPG.
GG.
Its a good game for jrpg fans
It is quite rare for me to give up on a game before finishing. Regrettably, False Skies drags on too long and has some very rough difficulty spikes at different points in the game. It is only possible to attempt to escape a battle after every enemy has attacked you that round. Some enemies hit for 50% of my HP per attack. Enemies grow stronger faster than I do. Some enemies counterattack *everything* and thus they get multiple attacks per round doing entirely too much damage. Once I took 70% of my HP from one round of being poisoned. Its just too much tedium and the story isn’t rich enough to justify it.
Amazing game! A real, full JRPG with a complex story. This was a wonderful experience!
