About FARHOME

FARHOME is an adventure-type science fiction game for virtual reality devices with focus on cooperative walkthrough and on the use of the characters’ special abilities.
You are in for a perilous journey to the Wasp-21 Ariadne system to explore its planets and to find out what the ancient civilization's vestiges conceal.

In the early 24th century, people from the emaciated Earth are looking for a new world to live in. The players will become members of an elite special purpose squad accompanying a large space mission. The goal of the expedition is to deploy the base, to get the extraction of the most precious cyrium up and running, and also to get ready for launching the Portal that will allow the Earthians to relocate to a new place of residence. But the new world holds its own threats and challenges.

The missions are intended both for cooperative walkthrough and for fighting single-handed. Combining the strong points of the weapons and the special abilities of the squad members will make each combat unique. The gameplay of FARHOME is a combination of different styles: here you will find both the combats with a lot of shooting and the unhurried exploration of other planets’ worlds.

The game supports multiple modes of getting about (long-distance teleportation, short-range jumps, conventional movement by gliding along the surface). We’ve tried to make the locomotion system as comfortable as possible, without the motion sickness effect in the virtual reality.

FEATURES
  • Different classes of fighters in the squad, each of them is equipped with their own types of weapons and unique abilities
  • Alternative modes of shooting for all weapons
  • Diversity of the enemies’ types with unique behaviors and reactions to different types of weapons
  • Possibility of equipping the squad with regard for the specific nature of the mission and of the prospective enemies
  • Open levels on different planet types: jungles, dungeons, deserts, missions on a spacecraft and in the deep space
  • The Unreal Engine provides for an amazing level of graphics

Enjoy the game!

UPDATE 01July 2018 Completed all missions with Engineer in Hard Level. Thoughts are as follows: - I finally figured out why the end of the 2nd level was so freaking frustrating. It seems when you die, and reload checkpoint, you often get dumped right back into the mess you just died in, which can lead to a quick death again. I experienced the same thing in level 4, when at the final boss stage. - When you respawn, you pick up almost right where you left off. While this is nice in that you will get a sense of constant progress, it can also take away any sense of tension in trying to complete the level (it comes down to a matter of patience in this situation). - Level 3 was a lot of fun,and the sense of scale was awesome. Something that would have really upped the tension would be that if the 'minion' enemies could knock off the sonic cannon of the boss. This level had something in common with one of the levels in Farpoint (nothing bad, it's just that I played Farpoint before this). - Level 4 was, to me anyways, heavily Halo-influenced. At first the level was pretty fun, but soon became a test of patience (see previous comment on respawning). When I got done with the level,…

This game has a nice Starship Troopers vibe and could be a solid addition to any VR games library. I recommend it on a deep sale price, because it was sadly, abandoned by it's creators!

Unfortunately, I would say wait to get this on sale. It isn't great but it isn't bad either. It is uncomfortably in between. The graphics are Unreal ok. The gameplay you kind of have to figure out along the way although your objectives are explained to you sort of. It is just learning what the mobs are going to do that is frustrating and sometimes it just seems like you are forever getting to your next or final objective. Difficulty is mediocre. Just a frustrating type of game play and experience because you want to be immersed in it but because of some things it just drags on some how. When you go outdoors in space it is not as graceful as say Downward Spiral and I would think people prone to sickness may get a little queezy and it is a long trek back inside the station. The boss fight was ok. Not easy and had to think quick how to beat it although I think the game told me. Me = bad hearing. When I get back into it I'll have more to say. Unfortunately, I don't get to finish a lot of games so don't let my play time sway you either way. I am reviewing what I played so far. And because I think this is an ok game for VR on super sale I'll give it a 5/10 and say buy it and give feedbac…

The game I really wanted was Space Ops which comes with this game and it's halfway decent. But Space Ops doesn't work. Farhome works but it's poo. Space Ops is halfway decent but it doesn't work.
