About fig.
fig. is our first take on a self-published game. It's a platformer inspired by classic retro games with a sci-fi setting. Get ready for a 2-3 hours adventure where you have to fight enemies, unlock abilities and uncover the secret behind fig.
Appearing as unknown character, in strange place, with very limited tools... You have to move forward. Fight your way through corridors, defeat drones and robots to unevil the truth about yourself.
Use your arsenal to defeat encountered opponents. Invent various strategies to beat over 5 types of enemies!
Collect all chips to unlock new abilities and look for secret places which can ease your path through the levels.
Crave your skills to ultimately beat 3 bosses and reveal the truth about FIG!

Metroid clone with clunky movement. The game is not the worst and I know that some people might enjoy it, but I did not. You can't shoot whilst in the air for example, so silly... Level design is rather basic, but playable, there's no variety in enemies at all though. It feels like a cheap metroid rip off, it plays like a cheap metroid rip off, it is a cheap metroid rip off. After trying this game out I gave Super Metroid a shoot, it was smoother and better. With so many good metroidvanias nowadays it's not worth wasting your time on unpolished products like this one.8 found this helpful
For the price it isn't bad and if they can smooth out the overall feel of the game i think its passable. The shooting was weird on controller as it was joystick based. The jump feels to heavy as one of the bosses requires you to jump over them repeatably but i keep getting hit by them. Everything feels to weighty in my op. as for the issues others have stated i didnt really have any. Game-play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCyQhh7N6pc&ab_channel=BirdieTheWise2 found this helpful
I don't want to criticize this mini-Metroidvania too harshly since it's evident that it's an early attempt, but there are too many bugs to enjoy it. The game isn't unplayable, but there are instances where you're unexpectedly pushed off or fall through a platform, the jump height is reduced by half, or you break through the floor and walk on the bottom (inside) of the floor. The latter occurred to me when I was in the Flyer (2nd boss) room. Typically, you can fix these minor issues by leaving the room and re-entering, but since you cannot leave the boss fight, I was done. Obviously, I cannot recommend it.2 found this helpful
Movement is clunky and level design is ok.2 found this helpful
I enjoyed it. The main story isn't very long and pretty fun to complete. However, there are parts in the lab and warehouse that require Japanese levels of skill. Like holy $h!^1 found this helpful
This game is terrible... but I like it. FIG is a game filled with small Metroid like sections, not very creative bosses, and terrible physics, but that doesn't make it a bad game. FIG (the character) is pretty good, despite them not really having enough character to them. Even though I do like this game there are some things that can be improved on: The PC controls are confusing. The "Special Punch" upgrade is kinda useless. Shooting isn't that good. The bosses aren't very great (due to them just being bigger versions of the basic enemies with fancy new attacks). There isn't much of a story. The main mode is short as hell, and you can even get an 100% run in under 30 minutes. If those issues are fixed (and maybe even adding difficulty settings and new modes for the Story Mode) then this game is a 10/10.
