This is such a cute game! The developers really put a lot of effort into it, I was so amused when the story first popped up haha. The gameplay is entertaining, and the developers did a good job of introducing the mechanics to you!

I wanted to like this game. I followed its development and was genuinely excited for release. But after losing an hour of progress to a system freeze on the final level, I have to be honest. Something felt off while playing, and I finally realized what: there's no agency. Every survivors game I've played - Vampire Survivors, Brotato, Death Must Die, Halls of Torment, Megabonk - gives you meaningful decisions. Level up, pick an upgrade, weigh your options. It's the core loop that keeps your hands and brain engaged. Frogmageddon doesn't have this. Frogs are random. You're just watching chaos unfold with no meaningful input. My hands were bored. Game design is subjective though, so take that as you will. My technical gripes are not subjective. On the final level, my entire desktop session froze and crashed. Not just the game - my Linux session died and I had to log back in. No worries, I thought, I'll just restart. All my progress was gone. An hour of grinding through every level, erased. Feeling curious, I decompiled the game. I discovered that the save system only triggers on clean exit - a crash or freeze means your progress simply vanishes. No checkpoints between levels, no a…

The premise is very cool, but the execution falls very short. 0 depth to gameplay, just run around and hope you find caches with good frogs. Expert mode everything is just a bullet sponge so even more boring running around. The devs know about it i guess, because all the bosses are very easy to dodge with <50 frogs (but also impossible to dodge with 150+ just to "cut you down") It looks pretty cute and has a funny little 3-liner "story", but not recommended if you're looking for ribitting gameplay

Really fun and original take on the Bullet Heaven genre. Looks silly but actually takes a a bit more skill than other games like this. If you like Pikmin or Katamari Damacy, give this game a go.
