The game is... okay. For the price it's worth it but the game feels more like a demo to show off a cool concept rather than a full game. The artstyle while cool relies too heavily on a strong dithering filter; if the artstyle was instead sculpted with a less heavy dithering effect in mind I think it would have been much better. The tutorial could have also been a lot more streamlined, the way it is presented makes the player able to accidentally miss one very important bit of information if they look away for a short moment then need to restart the whole tutorial over again to see what they missed. Some sort of text log would be an easy fix for that. The content itself is fun but very short, you can experience everything with one or two quick playthroughs. The balancing itself is also not the greatest with certain combinations being instant wins and too easily acquirable. With all of this taken into consideration I don't think the game is bad but I don't think it's good. What saves it from being bad is how cheap the game is makes it hard to argue that the purchase is regrettable. I've seen the teasers for the second game of the same concept and I have to say I am much more excit…2 found this helpful
Fun gameplay, beautiful art direction, and great replayability.
Slime blade with regen driver against the final boss *will* go on forever if you let it. That said, gameplay's a little silly but the game's also like 2 hours long
really tight gameplay loop, DESPERATELY needs a 1v1 of some sort to help its replayability past a few playthroughs
seeing a lot of silly conflicting commentary on the balance of the game in the negative reviews with like 0.5 hours, guys sink your teeth in you gotta start from the top but you'll figure it out. it's a ton of fun. best played totally blind so get out of the reviews and go play the game. i appreciate that there are splash credits at the beginning for the engines and a free demo. very nifty! note to dev: buttons that are on scrolly menus, specifically the restart and character select button are very hard to click. that part sucks. please fix that. otherwise i love it
Hot garbage. The idea sounds cool. The game looks cool. My tops hit the enemy tops and get sent out of bounds. Their tops are always better. The defense top is just there to wait out the aggro tops (feels terrible to play). Thank goodness I only wasted a few dollars.
