Fun game, however it has been abandoned in an unfinished state. It is hard to do anything unique because by the time you get these interesting items it is too late to really change your whole build. The campaign is also way too slow.

Gameplay loop is fun but it's riddled with so many bugs and balancing issues that it can ruin the mid-late game experience. Unfortunately, the game appears to have been abandoned.

Pioneered the backpack battler genre but stagnated and became abandonware. Decent but now that the genre has quite a few games, it's overshadowed.

It's not perfect. Far from it. And it can be really frustrating. I've done the story mode and found that a little confusing at first ... I wasn't clear on selling things and research and needing stuff you sold for research. It's a little hard to find who you need to talk to at first as well. There are exclamation points to guide you but they don't always show you everyone you need to talk to. Matthew is particularly vexing. That said, I enjoy the game. I've been working on the individual "quests" on quick runs and I'm definitely frustrated with a few of them. I got all of the achievements (a first for me). But the quick runs - some of them make no sense and feel damn near impossible (including the one I've spent the last WEEK trying to do and the one I completely gave up on). I don't care for two of the five heroes. But, overall, this is a fun little game to kill some (okay, a lot, in my case) time with. The mechanics are simple to figure out, difficult to master. Some dumb luck is required. I haven't had much trouble getting "good" stuff , but there are items I've never even seen. I bought it on sale and I would not recommend it at full price ... if you can get it on sale, it…

The potential of the game hurts me. I played it since early access and the 1.0 release was a long awaited major downgrade in quality which made me stop playing for a long time. Recently came back to the game to finish the story at least once and get all achievements. It showed me what I loved about this game but also the unpolished, abandoned and buggy state the game was left in. In my opinion besides perhaps learning a bit of the mechanics, the story mode is worse than quickplay and honestly it feels added on for the sake of having a story mode more than anything else. Progression is slow, town building clunky and generally obscure. Constantlty making you go into all kinds of buildings scrolling though lists to find what you might be able to research a bit further or talking to every npc to find the one that hes research available.
