"Not as Engaging as It First Appears." At first, DungeonTop looked like a game I could really sink hours into. The premise was interesting, and my first few runs left a solid impression. There’s a certain charm in discovering new cards, planning strategies, and trying to push further each time. For a while, it gave me hope that this could be one of those hidden gems in the deck-building roguelike space. Unfortunately, the longer I played, the more the cracks began to show. Battles often feel repetitive, with enemy encounters blending together rather than evolving in meaningful ways. The difficulty can sometimes feel unfair, as enemies have a tendency to push you into unavoidable situations where no amount of planning seems to matter. Instead of feeling challenged, I often felt cornered. The presentation also doesn’t do the game many favors. The visuals are serviceable but extremely basic, lacking the kind of polish or personality that makes you want to come back. Not that DungeonTop is a bad game, but there are so many good roguelikes around that I cannot recommend this one. If you played all the good ones, and are still in dire need to play another one, then yes, you can probably go for DungeonTop, otherwise, look around a bit, and I am sure you will find good stuff for your leasure.
