Furriend is a free casual puzzle game about filling squares with kitties, doggos, and more. Beat it in 1 hour twice using a mouse. There are squares, and you must drag your mouse across them to transplant summoned kikis into them, then doggos. it's cute. It's free. Or, well, that's the catch. This is just a trial version with 20 levels until you fork over 3$ for the full game. Which comes off as a little schemey. There are no bugs, but on my first playthrough I somehow accessed story mode without paying and blitzed through a solid 40 some levels before putting it down for a break. When I picked it back up, it forgot my progress and I was only able to play the first 20 like the trial mode is meant to be =P What I did see of the story mode by accident was a bunch of vague, barely connected image stills. they were cute, but I would barely call that a story. Picked up Furriend because it was free and I wanted a harmless, casual, cute puzzle game that wouldn't hurt me. This game excelled in that from what I played. You start off with only a trial and can't get all achievements without paying. Without repeating it and getting a bunch of bonus free levels through a r…3 found this helpful

"Furriend" is an advertisement for a simple browser/Flash/mobile tier puzzle game where you combine placement and "merging" mechanics to organise little cartoony cats and things. This isn't really free as you're expected to pay up more money to unlock content/DLC so you can keep playing. This is some nasty, predatory pricing and PC gamers don't like it. It's especially bad when developers abuse the free section of Steam to try mislead gamers with non-free products or paygated products like this one. This is not okay. As a demo the game "works", but it's also on par with browser/Flash games and mobile apps, so it's hard to recommend something like that to hardcore PC gamers. Are you going to stop playing CS2, Life is Strange, Black Myth Wukong for this? Noooope. Not in the same league... yet on the same store. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 14 concurr…2 found this helpful
Furriend by Tabematsu Studio and Shireishi Production is a cozy puzzle game that blends soft storytelling with a creative, pattern-based gameplay system. At a glance, it presents itself as a light and relaxing experience built around summoning cute animal companions, but it gradually reveals a more thoughtful design that balances accessibility with moments of genuine problem-solving. The game’s premise centers on a solitary young witch who creates magical companions to fill the absence of connection in her life, and this simple narrative thread quietly shapes the tone of the entire experience. The gameplay revolves around drawing paths across a grid to form specific patterns that summon different creatures. This mechanic is easy to grasp in its most basic form, allowing players to quickly understand how movement translates into outcomes. Early levels are designed to encourage experimentation, giving players the freedom to discover how different shapes and combinations produce different “furriends.” As the game progresses, however, it introduces more structured requirements, where certain creatures can only be created under specific conditions. This adds a layer of intentionality t…1 found this helpful
