In case an english fan was interested in this game and was considering buying it, I'd recommend against it. Personally I don't think it was worth the price quality and quantity wise, as it's rather absurd price for what it was- but what it was was exactly what it advertised. It does stick close to canon... perhaps TOO close to canon because most of the CGS are NOT original to the game and are instead directly used from the anime with very little/no touch ups and a lot of the story are referential to the original series I feel. This can be a positive and a negative, but it isn't completely rehashing existing stories at least. I feel you would be better off watching someone else's gameplay rather than buying it yourself. As other reviews have mentioned, it's mostly like a VN/audio book with a lot of re-hashing... though I'm not too certain what was to be expected other than that. It would've been nice if there had been puzzles at least since it would be impossible to ask for anything like action. I do think the minigames are fun, but not worth the pricetag.

Luckily I am Chinese and understand the language. A game with nostalgia, with original voice actor However, for this price i don't really recommend for you to buy it, just watch others play is enough. 1. For now, i have been doing tasks , with limited place to visit, and the voicing is just "yee ah oh" like that I expected more voice over for this price 2.i expected more story on yokai, which is the core of the anime. But now i have been interacting with the normal characters , includes nyanko sensei, chuukyu. 3. Again, this game is pricey but still limited story line. I am buying because it's natsume yuujinchou, for those who are not hardcore fans, i think better you dont buy it. Idk, maybe i can change my mind after playing for longer hours

Amazing game with the same atmosphere as the anime. Wholesome and heartwarming adventure. Same voice actors, soundtrack and visual style. Also, great for learning Japanese on an intermediate level. The characters usually speak while showing the text below which is great for learners like me. I'd appreciate if the kanji had furigana above. Now I need to use Gazou OCR service and always capture the part of the windowed game to copy the unknown kanji. The game also works well with Proton.
