恋与未歇之雨 is a surprisingly thoughtful visual novel that I found myself getting more invested in as the story went on. I play as 阳, a young man who has lost part of his memory, and then meets 小雨, a girl who claims to be his childhood friend and girlfriend. I really liked that setup because the central mystery is not simply about what happened in the past, but whether the memories I am trying to recover can actually be trusted. The main gameplay is built around reading, conversations and making choices that shape the story. I enjoyed the slower pace because it gives the characters enough room to talk about their memories and relationship without constantly rushing toward another dramatic event. The choices also make me pay attention to how 阳 reacts to 小雨 and to the different situations they encounter while revisiting places connected to their shared past.
