"Geometry Boxer" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from University of Utah in the USA. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This is a really poor effort... low poly assets create a backdrop for a directionless and pointless console-esque third person brawler. There's no optimisation, the students didn't bother, and a slew of bugs that will never be fixed, making this unpleasant to play, even if you can find a reason to want to play it. Геймплей прост, но дьявольски сложен: управляя небольшим геометрическим персонажем, вам предстоит уклоняться от надвигающихся геометрических фигур и отправлять их в нокаут с помощью мощных ударов. С каждым уровнем скорость нарастает, появляются новые типы фигур, и вам необходимо молниеносно реагировать, чтобы выжить. Визуальный стиль минималистичен, но эффективен. Яркие неоновые цвета и простая геометрия создают приятную и ненавязчивую атмосферу. Музыкальное сопровождение идеально соответствует динамичному геймплею, добавляя адреналина и драйва. Поначалу игра может показаться хаотичной, однако, со временем, начинаешь улавливать ритм и предугадывать движения противников. Появляется ощущение прогресса и удовлетворения от освоения сложной механики. Geometry Boxer – отличный способ скоротать время, потренировать реакцию и получить заряд положительных эмоций. Она проста в освоении, но сложна в совершенствовании, что делает её реиграбельной и увлекательной. Рекомендую всем любителям аркадных экшенов, которые ищут что-то новое и необычное.
