What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players consistently report that this sequel fails to capture the charm of its predecessor, suffering from poor controls, broken mechanics, and shoddy execution that the retro N64 aesthetic doesn't excuse. Common complaints include unresponsive gameplay, non-functional UI buttons, unfair difficulty spikes, and numerous bugs that make the game feel unfinished, with the lack of meaningful death penalties removing any challenge or consequence. The general consensus is strong disapproval, with players recommending others avoid the game entirely.
Unfortunately can't recommend this game. The previous Georgie-Yolkie had some charm and although clunky, was pretty nice for the low budget that it was. This is NOT charming, and the budget appears to be far downgraded - yes, meant to be retro N64 or something. but that doesn't excuse it for how shoddy it was done. Also, death means nothing, so you aren't punished, and don't need much of anything to beat the game.6 found this helpful

The controls are absolutely atrocious. It's barely playable. Also comes with some random anti-tamper bs.4 found this helpful

NO. Low quality game. There is a Skip button during the intro but does nothing. Once the game starts, if you get too close to a campfire you get burned but you cannot move away, so just watch and die. Enemies spawn and chase you but they cannot cross bridges or logs, they fall and die. The shop sells invisible hoods for 10 coins, with no image and gives you nothing. Level up button is broken, the equip button is broken. There are no clear map boundaries. One second I was running around and the next I'm in a new area. After I defeated a lion boss, the game decided to explain how to attack. I wrote this much to tell you: STAY AWAY.2 found this helpful
Georgie-Yolkie 64: The Furry Tale is a retro-inspired 3D platforming adventure developed and published by Spacefarer Games Ltd that proudly embraces the spirit of classic mascot platformers from the Nintendo 64 era. Rather than trying to compete with modern open-world adventures or cinematic action games, it focuses on recreating the colorful charm, straightforward gameplay, and collectathon structure that defined many late-1990s platformers. From its polygonal art style to its cheerful soundtrack and exploration-heavy level design, the game feels like a love letter to an older generation of gaming. It captures the atmosphere of that era surprisingly well, delivering an experience filled with nostalgic energy, even if some of its old-school design choices occasionally create frustration alongside the charm. The game follows Georgie and Yolkie, an unlikely duo traveling across fantasy-themed lands to rescue Princess Tabitha from the villainous King Rattie. The story itself is intentionally simple and lighthearted, serving primarily as a reason to move players from one colorful environment to the next. There are no complicated twists, deep emotional moments, or lengthy cutscenes int…1 found this helpful
