About Ghost Moon High Noon
People say that if you ride far enough into the desert, you'll find a town built off the river known as the Rio de Almas. This river ferries the souls of the recently-deceased. Lately, these souls have been overstepping, manifesting in the world of the living each night. Now, people have flocked to this town to avoid saying goodbye to their loved ones, stealing precious time away from death. In La Enmienda, you don't have to say goodbye forever.
The ghosts have begun lashing out. When the sun sets and the dead greet the living, they are confused and angry, putting the townsfolk in mortal danger. Bounties have been placed on the rowdy spirits, urging someone to put them to rest. It's the perfect job for a daring opportunist like yourself--the kind of job no one else will take. The moon rises over La Enmienda once more, and you are here to collect.
Ghost Moon High Noon is an isometric puzzle shooter. You play as the bounty hunter Valentina Sombra, who barely escaped the deadly clutches of the Rio de Almas and is now set on collecting all of the bounties for herself. The job is simple: armed with your spectral revolver, lasso, and recently-acquired semi-corporeal body, you must put down 12 unique restless spirits that have brought hell to earth. Get to know a large cast of unique townsfolk and ghosts, learning their history and quelling their sorrows, before eventually confronting your own. Blaze your trail through a series of complex environments and puzzles, shooting ricochet trick shots, wrangling your environment with your lasso, and phasing through walls to break through the ghosts' defenses one by one.

Stumbled across Ghost Moon High Noon by chance, the game's concept sounded pretty freaking awesome to me, I had to give it a try. It ended up being such a pleasant surprise! I don't usually write reviews longer than three sentences, but I compiled all my thoughts here: Art & Story: The art style was the first thing that caught my eye! I saw the screenshots showing off the character sprites, and it's pretty much what ultimately convinced me to give the game a try. Valentina and the many ghost bosses she faces are wonderfully designed, so kudos to whoever was in charge of that. I also really liked the little stylistic taglines at the start of each boss that built up some hype ("LAY DOWN THE LAW", "CLOSE OUT YOUR TAB", etc.) There was only really one song looping in the background throughout the game, but it fits the spooky, western vibe of the game so perfectly that I have no complaints about it. The game also isn't exactly plot or dialogue-heavy, but I liked the concept with helping the townspeople' loved ones pass on into the afterlife, and how it all ties in at the end with
Val having to confront a ghost from her own past.
Gameplay: The gamepla…3 found this helpful

"Ghost Moon High Noon" is an unusual but apparently genuinely made indie/amateur console-like top down shooter where you control a "half-ghost" character and do bounty hunting against rogue souls. But there's a lot going on here which adds a little bit of value where most indie/amateur made games are lacking. What do you do in the game? There's a bunch of different activities from puzzle solving (there's even a lassoo that you can use to move boxes around... but this is no Portal), shooting of course, and platforming. There's also a bullet richocet and "ghosting" mechanism (well, you are a half-ghost after all) that leads to interesting trick shots. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. On…1 found this helpful
Stylish and kind of fun! We are not in AAA game territory but a worthy little effort.
