About Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
Hunt ghosts and unravel dark mysteries across a cursed 1695 settlement while wielding combo-based combat that blends physical weapons with spectral powers. Your choices determine whether to save or sacrifice the living, banish or ascend spirits, and ultimately decide the fate of your relationship with your ghost-bound partner in this narrative action-RPG from the makers of Life is Strange.
Play as a couple of Banishers, Red and Antea, experienced spirit hunters entrusted with the daunting task of dispelling a malevolent curse through powerful rituals. Protect the living from the threat of lingering ghosts and specters, and become a beacon of hope in a world consumed by darkness. Experience a heart-wrenching love story between Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith. When Antea is killed and turned into a spirit, you find yourself facing a choice. Will you uphold your oath and ascend her soul, or will you sacrifice the living in the hope of bringing her back? Your decisions will shape the fate of New Eden’s inhabitants - may they be living or dead, and determine the end of your journey.
- BLAME the living and sacrifice their lives, holding them responsible for their actions
- BANISH souls of the departed, condemning them to eternal suffering
- ASCEND souls, liberating them from eternal sorrow and granting them serenity

Despite being "wokish" (6.5/10), the game is fun. It has a good story, you have a good margin of freedom of choice. In today's game industry it can be called a good game (storywise).3 found this helpful
Vampyr is still a better game for me, but this one is also very good and deserves your attention. The story, narrative, suspense, and setting are all on point. Support this game, support this team, we lack teams that know how to write. More and more empty-headed people are writing, failing to realize that story and emotion are the pillars of a good RPG. You’ve done the 20th century and the 17th century . It’s time for some Middle Ages with werewolves or witchcraft come on guys, Don't Nod, I have faith in you.1 found this helpful
At this point. Its very worth it.1 found this helpful
I hate there's only two options for recommendations "YES or No". There needs to be a "MEH it's ok" option. I chose yes but I wouldn't because I didn't enjoy the game enough to tell people YES. And the game isn't bad enough for me to tell people No. Here are the game mechanics that pushed me quickly over the edge. Mostly the combat .. You get two characters and can only use one at a time and even though you can easily switch between them, the constant switching between them got annoying fast. Also, trying to get a " perfect switchover " or whatever it's called for bigger damage from Ghosterella wasn't a smooth combination of keys to activate . A clunky mechanic I thought, even with key bind changes . My 2 cents. Just make the two characters fight as a team. Control 1, the other using AI, and vice versa The wheels been invented already and it works fine. Stop adding flat section to it and say it's better. I have learned the second manifestation and can't figure out how to switch them. Hitting the assigned key does nothing. Can't use a heal in combat until you stop attacking, while in a fight. !! QUIT Talk blocking me !! Tryin to pick up that sweet shin…
VERRY NICE eNDING FOR SURE
I wholeheartedly recommend it for the story and voice acting. The banishers work on the balance of life and death, and the many different stories make a touching impression. There is a lot of dialogue in the game, enjoy it, it's the best part. Some of the gameplay revolve around detective work, trying to figure out the reason or what happened and I really enjoyed that. Combat also plays an important part in gameplay and while the shift between exploration, dialogue and action is nice, I think the combat is the weakest part of the game, as it gets repetitive after a while. Some elite enemies are just more tedious than difficult. Some level design is also too gamey and makes little sense in the context of the world. Yet none of this takes away that this game was an excellent experience.
