I'm a bit mixed on recommending this one but the rating is already very low. As of today it sits a 36%, a near irredeemable score which makes the game seem worse than it is. But it does have some redeeming qualities and fun aspects to it. Mainly the obviously pretty art style that paired with the sound design which really sells the stained glass world design. Music is not too remarkable but still blended with the rest of the audiovisual experience to make a coherent package. The controls were fine and while combat was a bit mixed atleast it wasn't stupidly hard to drag out the experience like many of its ilk do. There were some genuinly fun bosses and parts of the levels that were worthwhile experiences. The level design as a whole is a bit lacking though with a near fully linear experience that sends you back and forth across the map a few times to get the full ending. Some things change here to spice it up but not nearly enough to make it not feel cheap. However the game is often at a very low discount and for around 2 bucks there's worse way to spend your money. It's not a big time investment either so if you really like these sorta games and are desperate for another one. Gleam…

This game had such potential... It has a great aesthetic, worldbuilding and character designs, but it falls short in mostly everything else. The animation is the most garish part in my opinion. They look like poorly tweened graphics, making a visually gorgeous game look like a cheap mobile game from 2011. The story is vague and unrewarding and the gameplay is very dull. Controls are... fine. Enemies are spammed at nauseum and boss designs are very basic. Multiple endings, but they're kind of rudementary. A quick jaunt of a game with not much to offer, which is a shame because I feel that the stained glass aesthetic is incredibly unique and the world building pulled me in a little bit. Just enough to keep the game for myself. Don't bother with it. It's not fun. Not even on a sale.

great game i want to see more like it and this is why i like it yea the over price is like bad but most of the reveiw are not getting to the point if your save file is gone that's cause it's like a new game+ and yes theres enemy spam but just take a minute to find a stratigy. It's also has a hollow kinght look and feel and tell did your first play thought look like ass yes then go shut up

Despite quite a few weird quirks and jank, this game holds up pretty well. It has one of the best dashes i've seen in a game. The amount of control you have over it is incredible. Silksong wishes it had this games dash. Mechanically, it reminds me most of dash canceling in celeste, except that doing so doesn't gain speed. This kind of dash is very helpful against fighting enemies. This is 95% of this game, but it does a great job at making combat against regular enemies not feel frustrating, unlike some games *cough* silksong *cough*. Still, regular enemies aren't completely trival to defeat, unlike some other games *cough* Terraria *cough*. I think part of this is how enemies will heal upon damaging you. This is something really neat that i think more games should look into.
