What Steam players say

Players have mixed feelings about this casual puzzle game. Fans appreciate it as a simple, low-stress diversion with decent challenge in beating levels for three stars, though critics argue the Halloween theme is minimal and the game suffers from technical issues, poor pricing history, and frustrating mechanics like unkillable thieves that make higher levels tedious. The game's poor reputation is reflected in its tiny player base and its status as a mobile port that many see as a low-effort cash grab, though some find value at deeply discounted prices.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 12 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Gnomes Garden: Halloween is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a cash grab from mobile devs. It's a tablet ported clicker game/ripoff of the 12 Labours of Hercules series, only worse. The shady developer behind this valueless shovelware has proven to be a persistent nuisance abusing Steam... they've dumped over a hundred valueless mobile app tier asset flips onto Steam, many featuring plagiarised/stolen stock art and other unethical, shady behaviours. The developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this particular game, with minor reskins, an insane THIRTY TWO TIMES onto Steam with minor reskins... why cash in on one asset if …4 found this helpful
I've played other games in this series. It's about as fun as the other ones, although up to this point, it doesn't have many directly Halloween encounters or resource. I guess it's just a Gnome game released around Halloween, not necessarily gnome game filled with Halloween stuff.
When I want to play a game that doesn't require a lot of brain capacity, these games are my go-to! they might be simplistic, but for me they are a lot of fun, trying to beat every level with 3 stars. Some are definitely challenging, which makes it all the more fun. Can definitely recommend this!
game not workin. black screen at start
After 5 years of waiting I FINALLY picked this up at its NEW historical low of 85% off for just $0.74! Not bad for a once $15 game that has been marked down to $5 in late September of 2023. It would almost always hit 90% off of $15 for $1.49 but over the past 6 months it's hit $3.49 and $5 when on sale. My guess is because they knew they'd be dropping the game to $5 at full price. Anyway... the game is pretty much like the newer Gnomes Garden but with a Halloween theme, a minimal one at that. I feel like people paying $5 to $15 have an issue with this but finally paying the price I paid I'm completely fine with it, as $0.74 is the highest I've ever paid for a Gnomes Garden game. Not much else to say except snag it at this dirt cheap price while you can, there's no telling how it'll be priced in the future. And if you're not a collector of these types of games like I am it may not be a game for you. It's also one of the better performing and more difficult games of the bunch so there's that. These are positives IMO.
Play to get away from work for a few minutes at a time but this version is horrible. Apart from having nothing to do with halloween, the addition of thieves that you can't get rid of totally ruins the higher levels. The number of tasks per level are inconsistent and again ruined by the thieves. Have uninstalled all versions of the game and won't be supporting this creator again.
