Goblin and Coins II: The Lost Recipes

Much simpler and shorter than Goblin and Coins 2. You start with the Double Jump skill, and the other upgrades are no longer available. I did like the level designs more here. They are straightforward, and it's hard to get lost. However, I missed the boss fights, which gave a nice variety in the base game. Presentation-wise, the new textures look much better here, although this comes with a cost: some traps, especially floor spikes, are now hard to spot.

I had the game lying around for some while and sadly had only time to check it out now. Comparing it with the previous Goblin and Coins 2" this one is almost a child's play. I mean, the sadly removed the upgrade options - which means you can double jump from the start on - which is a minus. Not in a way that game is bad. It's just that the game feels really easy to play - and is by the way...! Anyway, another nice side-scroller which deserves its price. Thumbs Up!

This was pretty okay. As advertised, it's a rather meat and potatoes stage based, reusing the assets from the last one. I replayed levels quite a bit trying to get everything, and while I didn't quite get the results I wanted (a few levels I couldn't get the all coins star and the timely completion one in a single run), for the most part it delivers in being a simple little platformer. A few enemies are kind of annoying, but for the most part the game felt fair (a few bits had margins significantly tighter than the rest of the game, but it never needs to be pixel/frame perfect). While there's a few kinda maze-ish levels that do make optimizing the route for all coins less than obvious, the loopbacks are frequent enough to never feel as daunting as the XL levels in GnCII could get. Oh, and the recipes look like they're probably pretty nice. Need to try them out, though.

Fun and sometimes nerve wracking little platformer that you can play in your downtime

Goblin and Coins II: The Lost Recipes has some good parts but it's overshadowed by the janky hit boxes. I keep thinking i am about to hit on the right target but end upo losing a hit point. 6/10
