Goblin Buster: Incremental Tower Defense

Stupidly addicting. I am really enjoying it!

[h2]Trying To Finish This Game Out Of Spite[/h2] TLDR: game starts fairly strong but ends up funneling you into doing ONE thing to grind the rest of the game. I expect grinding from incremental games but this one felt kind of backwards - these kinds of games should START with one thing you can do to grind and then branch out... this one bottlenecks HARD. and some of the mechanics are either buggy or just so unclear that it feels buggy. while i had fun moments and see pieces of a great game here, i can't recommend it unless you're someone who KNOWS you'll only play a few rounds and drop this, or if you GENUINELY love playing tower defense to the point where you don't mind doing the same levels with the same equipment over and over and over. this game feels like abandonware. Is The Game Still Not Finished?[/h3] look, the front end is super fun. but there comes a point where you have unlocked all you can with all the resources except one - the purple gems. that one, you MUST fight enemies to get, and they only drop from the elite/boss enemies, so you need to be choosy about which stage to grind because there's a set amount which spawn depending on the stage. th…

There is a few levels in this game where you cant just mindlessly placing towers and win. And yes technically you can farm your way to victory. But the resource is too little that it would takes ages and its better to actually try to come up with a strategy to win. So the incremental part of this game is a little bit lack lusting.

I would love to recommend this game. For about half of it, it's great! The art is cute, the progression is satisfying, besides the usual tree there's also "town" that gives you resources passively. But about half way through, it becomes impossible. You suddenly have to cover two paths and you can't afford to cover both effectively. And there is nothing to be done, because by that point skill tree is fully unlocked. The only theoretical path forward would involve replaying the same level 100s of times to get a certain resource to allow you to brute force it eventually, but it's not fun or interesting. If you know how to write a macro that would build and upgrade the same towers again and again to grind while you go for a walk, sure, but otherwise, just know that you're not finishing this game.

late game gets VERY boring because only "gems" matter

It was a fun little tower defence. Hard to figure out the proper builds in some maps. 7/10
