I went into God Breakers hoping for a solid experience with RPG elements, but I was completely disappointed by how it handles progression. To be fair, the combat system is genuinely great—it feels fluid and responsive. Unfortunately, that is the game's only redeeming quality. Instead of building your character over time, the game plays like an unforgiving arcade simulator. Whenever you die, all your progression is wiped and you are reset back to the world. You are essentially forced to play through the entire game in a single run without making a mistake. There are little to no RPG elements to make your time investment feel rewarded. If you are looking for a brutal permadeath arcade game, you might like this. But if you want any sense of permanent progression or RPG mechanics, skip it. The combat alone isn't enough to carry the experience. Option 2: Detailed Breakdown (Best for Reddit, Metacritic, or a Blog) The Good: The Combat System: I have to give credit where it's due—the combat is fantastic. This is an awesome fast paced game! I enjoyed every bit of the replay ability by beating the game with different modifiers up until i achieved the "true ending". Absolutely great game, i loved it. The game would get a 5/5 star from me if there was more content1 found this helpful
