✦ AI summary

Going Up? is a deliberately challenging and absurdist puzzle game with intentionally awkward controls and physics designed to frustrate players, leading to frequent deaths that form the core experience. Players have mixed reactions, with some finding dark humor and novelty value in its deliberately obtuse design, while others criticize its unclear mechanics, lack of audio, unfinished presentation, and punishing difficulty that makes it hard to recommend unless you specifically enjoy frustration-based games.

“Going Up?” (PC) (2020) You may have seen the fake commercials for the mobile game ‘Hero Wars’. These commercials show a hapless individual dragging a protagonist hero from level to level on various towers with an enemy on each floor. If the Hero’s associated number is higher than the enemy’s number then the hero will slay that enemy and have their own number and the enemies number combine so that they can slay more powerful enemies. Usually, the commercial shows the individual making a basic mistake that costs him/her the game, making the viewer think ‘that is easy. I can do better than that’. These commercials are fake as they have nothing to do with the main bulk of the freemium game being presented, they are simply false advertising. They’re in fact designed to direct a bulk of the curious gaming population to the game, where hopefully a number from that bulk, (5% minimum) will fall prey for other sly marketing techniques and unfair algorithms already present in the game. I bring this up because Gavin Ray a quirky self-employed Python tutor from Bellingham, Washington has taken this skeletal non-existent gaming concept and actually padded it into a real game. It used…

I beat the game, let me tell you, it's an absolute masterpiece. Absolute masterclass of a game, and after I made it to the top, I practically went hog wild. This game is my life, and it's taught me to do things that everyone should follow if they have played this game, murder and robbery. I even robbed people in between floors! I wish I could do that in real life. This game is my love, my life, and continues to feed my holy existence.

Игра "Going Up?" "Going Up?"

Feels a bit unfinished and has no audio. If you like turn based games this game is a bit bearable, but even then the game is hard to understand
