Goo Goo Grapplers is my game of the year, and here's why: Narrative: Johnson Grappler's story of redemption is second perhaps only to Arthur Morgan's. During the ~60 hour campaign, you truly get to know Mr. Grappler not only as a Goo Goo Grappler, but as a father, husband, and capable desperado with a heart of gold. The segment in which he faces off against Dark Grappler, his evil alter-ego born of his distorted desires that manifested during the Tangiers crisis of 1969, in which he lost his long-time partner to a gang of renegade radical Jainists, is an unbelievable story beat that seems capable of only coming from the minds of legends like JRR Tolkien or Kentaro Miura. Yet it was neither of these literary geniuses who blessed us with such palpable and moving fiction. It was Both Good Productions. I highly recommend choosing the neutral-good ending, at least for your first playthrough. I'm currently working on the pure good ending, and I'm not sure if I can bring myself to ever finish any of the evil endings. Samuel L. Jackson's performance as Hytham Grappleton is quite gripping as well. Graphics: The 16-bit art style harkens back to classics such as Super Metroid and Drilldo…

It's hard to play Goo Goo Grapplers and not have a smile on your face. My favorite games are ones that bring inventiveness and verve to an otherwise familiar genre, which GGG does on all accounts. The graphics, the weaponry, the soundtrack... the devs have blended typical MOBA fun with humor and creativity, which is all the more impressive considering this is BG’s first game (as I write this, it's the first release of the game, too). The game is well-paced. Players seeking a quicker game can prioritize upgrading damage output and character speed. Players can also (which I recommend) take advantage of the whole map and all the ability offerings, e.g., collecting toy parts, capturing stuffed elephants, and experimenting with Specials. The game does not play well without controllers. I highly recommend playing with controllers. I’d like to see BG add more game modes and add online play. Until then, entire kingdoms (pillow forts) will continue to fall to me and mine (baby and crawler army). Overall, super fun game. I've logged ~7 hours. Highly recommend. Excited for the next BG release.

Very Fun PVP game that lets you combine abilities for interesting builds and combos. The movement options are really fun! Cant wait for more abilities to use and hopefully a 2v2 mode!
