truly the best game about making rodents and fish and reptiles and mammals and stuffed animals and fungi fight each other ever created. brimming with personality in both its art and its music, and boasting a party system with plenty enough incentive to try different team configurations, Goofy Lil Guys is a charming and competent local party game I'll be happy to return to at least a few times. "Goofy Lil Guys" is an unusual and small scoped experimental game that tests whether a multiplayer game can be successful if the developer doesn't know how to do netcode or online matchmaking. Results are in, the answer is "No". What do you do in the game? So this is basically just a 2.5D brawler game where you control one of a handful of "critters" and fight wild critters and other players (who have to be sitting next to you and also don't exist because if you ask your friends to sit next to your gaming PC instead of at their own, just to play a crappy tech demo, you soon won't have any friends). There's also "legendary" bosses... but nobody bothered playing this long enough to get that far. This game relies on multiple players to work properly, but the developer couldn't work out how to do any netcode or proper online matchmaking. Steam's "Remote Play Together" tries to make up for this glaring shortfall, but PC gamers just don't crowd around a single PC in the living room anymore.
