Gooey

So far, the Goo is pretty goo-d. Any game with a grappling hook is an instant buy for me, so I knew I was going to get this on day one for a while. I played the first 34 levels and got all of the collectibles in each of them, and some were quite tricky. It took me about an hour to do this and the time flew by. However, if I am going to be honest, the first few levels didn't really feel very great because of how slow the character moves before you learn how the game is supposed to be played, but I am glad I stuck with it. Once the conveyer belts show up, everything clicks into place and you can start flying around in style. The game is pretty heavy on the physics aspect of platforming, so you can build a lot of momentum when grappling, and the level layouts let you do some fun stuff eventually. I am not sure how many levels are included in the game yet and have not messed around with the level editor yet, so I will add that stuff to this review eventually. I would like to add that the music is pretty good synthwave, and it fits the tone of the game well. I think this is an okay game at best, it's a very simple platformer with a level editor and AI music is immediately recognizable from the main menu. I understand that we all have to cut corners sometimes but there's no way this was an expensive game to make. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but I don't think the price point is appropriate considering the game's only thing that separates it from Mario is that you can stick your arm to surfaces and propel yourself forward. It's not special enough to be worth more than a few dollars, imo, it's like baby's first platformer

Solid physics platformer, if you're slick at em, this is a great game to spend an hour or two on completing the game so far (2026-06-29) The level progression on introducing the game mechanics is good, most of the challenging levels take a few tries before you can really figure out a stylish path, or a practical one, all due to the given physics, People may complain about the AI use of music, but it can be considered more so a placeholder for future updates and developments if the team behind the game finds the opportunity and time to bring more content to expand the game further, it has alot of potential, and there's alot of community building potential around the game, It also has a map editor for those with the creative skills and desire to bring a challenge to those who seek such things Worth buying and supporting, I'm mainly an FPS/RTS gamer but this was a great change of pace, and I'm sure it'll be just as enjoyable if not more from people who consider platformers as their mainstay genres, to something challenging from casual or explorative genre seekers
