Great Alhcemist

Great Alhcemist (yes, that's how the developer spelled the name... not Alchemist, "Alhcemist", you can't make this stuff up) is a NW.js based, horribly generic match-3 game where you move gems around. It's less intricate than the 1990's Bejewelled game this is ripping off. To put it mildly, this is garbage. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. Of course you can change the language, between English and... you guessed it, Russian. Yep, another Russian asset flip type cash grab has been dumped on Steam. This really does feel like it's asset flipped, too, although I couldn't locate any specific asset this might have come from, there's plenty of free demo/tutorials for Match-3 games on Github. match 3 game with timed levels and objectives. have played about 12 out of 30 levels so far. nice casual game with a clear user interface, quick loading, quick and clean exit. haven't noticed any bugs or anything negative so far - seems like a nice clean fun casual game. there is also a free game mode that i gave a quick try but didn't stick with it. i don't usually play match 3 games as a standard, so i can't really compare with others except to say that i think this will be one of those games i go back to every now and again when i feel like a casual distraction. fair value and i think the first match 3 type game to make it into my "staples" collection.

Tragically bland and uninteresting match three game. The look had given me hope that there would be some depth to it, maybe some sort of alchemical lab where I could build or buy upgrades, but no, it's just small area, and rapid fire match three play where you often get way more out of the random falling gems than anything you yourself has done. Cannot recommend. ADDENDUM: I usually try to push thru on these bad games, but I am uninstalling at less than an hour, our of sheer boredom.

It's alright, really! Once I'd turned off the sound effects, I actually enjoyed playing it. The sounds are really repetitive and clunky - they don't go at all with the music and really should be something more subtle I think.. some more mellow sounds and preferably ones that don't sound as repetitive when repeated every 3 seconds. Apart from the sound effects, the game works really well and it has a few unlocks, achievements, a decent 'regular' mode and free game mode too. I'll get my moneys worth from it, for sure. I just wish for 2 things in future versions - one that the spelling mistake in the title be fixed (!) and the other that the sounds be improved / made more subtle to blend in with the music more. Anyway, yeah, why not give it a go? It's a fun little match 3 game.
