Simple Good game, I enjoyed it far more than I think I ever expected and definitely missed a chest or 2... Though I'm not sure where... Highly recommend if you're looking for a short fun game where you gather monies as a gobbo.
Glad to always see students working on developing games, but the controls on this are noticeably bad. It needs at the very least a sensitivity adjust or something. Other than that, it's a little indie game that markets decent for kids. Not really seeing any market appeal or the older crowd, but that's ok too. It's a free game which works out just fine for people to come and offer feed back. I also found the goblin lord narration funny but the voice was super grating on the ears to listen too.
"Greedy Goblin" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from the University of Utah in the USA. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a small, unambitious and unpolished 3D platformer where you play a goblin and run around and collect coins... think Super Mario Galaxy but with 2% of the content and 1% of the polish and optimisation. Grim, isn't it? This is why student projects typically don't compare to real games. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality …
Horrible controls and camera. Your movement and jump is way to flaoty. The camera is harder than the entire game.
Worth the price of admission
