Seems BigFish games are also getting dumbed down. The Grim Tales games of the late 2010s were much more complex, consistent and challenging than this. In the end I gave it a thumbs up because it's not that bad, the animals are cute, and I liked the dark ambient music; however, don't expect anything special.

This one just isn't good. Now, I've played a LOT of Hidden Object games. Not just on Steam but GOG and even going through Big Fish's website. And I've a pretty high tolerance for goofy stories and non-sensical plots. I've been playing all the Grim Tales in order of release to piece together the over arching story. And this? Feels SO phoned in. Spoilers for the previous games in the series, thought most specifically the one right before this, Horizon of Wishes:
In the last game, your father, Richard, has decided that he's tired of being trapped in his skull, as he says, like a genie. He's come far from the man who in the first game was going to murder you and your twin sister for immortality. He's helped you save the family, many times, assisted you in getting your youth back, and I think your own immortality, and, now that you've a husband and family AND you've found the soul of your dead mother, you're a real family. But, he's tired and wants to rest. You help him break the spell of his skull prison and he departs. Honestly, it's one of my favorites in the series.
And I get it, these games were made over MANY, many years and there wasn't…

Nice plot and good graphics. Longer bonus which was nice since the game was about average. If you miss any of the puzzle pieces or collectables you cannot retrieve later.
