About GTFO

✦ AI summary

Lead a four-prisoner team deep into a decaying research facility to complete dangerous expeditions filled with horrific creatures, requiring careful coordination between stealth and brutal combat. GTFO demands constant communication and tactical teamwork—wake one Sleeper and you'll face overwhelming hordes, so you'll need to master positioning, bottlenecks, and overwhelming firepower to survive.

Your team of prisoners is dropped into the Rundown when a new Work Order is issued by The Warden, the mysterious entity holding you captive. The Rundown is a series of expeditions, each one taking you deeper into a decayed research facility called The Complex. You descend level by level, scavenging tools and resources that help you survive in a perilous network of tunnels where gruesome creatures lurk in every shadow. Complete all the expeditions to fulfill the Work Order and clear the Rundown.
GTFO is designed for prisoner teams of four, putting cooperation at the core of the experience. Bots can fill your lineup if you’re short one or two players. They’ll follow you through expeditions, sneak when you sneak, collect resources, and fight alongside you. They’re a good fallback, but the level of communication and tactical combat in GTFO means it’s best to play with people.A strategy is necessary to clear the Rundown. Before you drop into The Complex, your team needs to decide what gear, boosters, and weapons to bring. You must also balance the team, identifying the function of each prisoner so that you know what to do when things go wrong. And they will. They always do.Stealth and coordination are necessary to survive as you maneuver through The Complex. Many of the creatures of GTFO are suspended in a state of hibernation, so light, noise, and vibrations can easily wake up these Sleepers. And if one of them knows you’re there, they all know. That’s when things get messy. You’ll need heavy weaponry and a clear mind when the shit hits the fan. Check your line of fire, force them through bottlenecks, set up your kill zones and reload every chance you get. These creatures stop at nothing, and neither should you. Once the mayhem starts, you have no choice but to put every last one of them down.

Clearing expeditions and Rundowns will reward you with new cosmetic gear. Wear it with pride, as it proves to your peers you’ve been to hell and back. The Sleepers, on the other hand, will not care for a second.

games kind of bad. weapons feel extremely weak and gunplay is is pretty bad, it is suppose to be a stealth game, which feels odd since you cannot see a thing in game and the enemys will get alerted to you pretty much no matter what you do. iv tried it multiple times since release and could never bring my self to try more then a couple matches at time so im sure im missing key stuff that you get later on but it just feels like it wants you to be a stealth player but has a bunch of defense areas where you have to waste all your ammo holding a position for a few minutes which would be fun to actually mow through these creatures but the gunplay just doesnt make satisfying. its also kind of a dead game. this is the first time i seen theplayer counter around 1k in years so i figured id try my luck in finding a match and was able to find 1.

Is a masterpiece in the first 50 hours. But then you start feeling the weakness of your flesh and the limits of the human body. And after another 50 hours you finally understand: the devs accidentally forgot to playtest the level. 10/10 would fail at their next game again

Where do I start. This ♥♥♥♥ is hard, very hard, I wouldn't bother to try it if you don't have friends to play with, altought the game's Discord server is a good place to look for people to play. The worldbuilding is top tier, the atmosphere is awesome too and the monsters will make you feel nauseated. It's a really difficult game, so difficult in fact there will be times you will be frustrated and want to turn the off, feel free to take breaks, as the game has lots of things to offer and burning out and not wanting to play anymore will make you miss out on one of the most amazing coop-survival games of all time. Cheers
