Not good... At first glance looks very cute and like one of the great Sokpop builder games, but this one has some big issues: - THE HOUSE HEALING BUG still exists. You cannot heal your gnome because you have 50% chance it'll break your run. If another unit gets stuck, you'll lose the unit and the possibility to heal entirely. - To make things worse; game already is very difficult. You have to make the right choices at the right moment without ANY fail and continuously drag around your units to make it through. - Which is an issue, because the selection / action system doesn't work very well. - Smaller one and a matter of taste, but the BGM doesn't fit the game (kudos for the BGM off button though) In this state this is just a broken game, the bug needs to be fixed (again, as the dev already tried once).......

I really want to recommend this game but it remains unplayable. As with other comments there's the house bug which continues to persist. It removes the only avenue to heal units and can even soft-lock you from finishing the game as I found out on my first run. At best the game just becomes extremely difficult. The bug isn't even rare, it's happened on all three runs I've attempted with this game and it seems like it has remained an issue. It's a shame because otherwise it has a lot of good things going for it.

Guardener is a compact yet surprisingly demanding strategy experience developed and published by the Sokpop Collective, a studio well known for distilling clever ideas into small, focused games. At first glance, Guardener presents itself as a cozy gardening title with bright pixel art and a playful tone, but it quickly reveals itself as a tense hybrid of farming, real-time multitasking, and defensive planning. The game thrives on the constant pressure it places on the player, transforming the simple act of growing vegetables into a frantic battle for survival. The premise is charmingly absurd: a peaceful garden is under relentless attack from waves of pests and critters, and it is up to a lone gardener to both cultivate crops and protect them from destruction. Vegetables are not merely decorative or passive sources of income; they are the backbone of the entire system. Players must plant, water, and harvest crops such as carrots, onions, and potatoes, then sell the produce to fund upgrades and defensive tools. This creates an immediate tension between long-term planning and short-term survival, as neglecting either farming or defense can cause the entire operation to collapse. Ga…
