Haunted House Renovator

This is one of those games that I know I'd enjoy if it were just finished. Instead, Haunted House Renovator has sadly been abandoned, leaving behind a buggy skeleton. If you're thinking of suffering through the bugs to get 100% achievements, you'll be sad to know the achievements are also bugged and some a couple just don't want to unlock.

I want to like this game so badly. I mean, it's fun. Mechanics are pretty alright. Concept is very interesting. But, they definitely didn't take any tips from House Flipper. No way to match furniture colors. It's just a hodge podge of random wood or what have you. Looks terrible. From what I can see, there's not even any matching sets of furniture at all. Dunno. If they add more furniture or a color matching thing I'd like it a lot more. Oh and give an option to hide or minimize the side panel on the left. It takes up so much of the screen it's actually crazy.

The game has a lot of bugs and from what I can tell the original creators are not fixing the bugs any more. I think this would be a cool game if they made improvements to it, but I would say in its current state it is not worth buying.

Don't get this Review wrong, as I will explain why I liked the game, but why I do not recommend it at this state to others. Warning: I might be a little picky about my designer freedom I played the game around 9 hours at this point and had to restart my whole save due to a bug. Time (and tears) was invested, I still do not know how to put the ghostly cello up and there had been many things I noticed so far that made me, as a person who cares for looks and being able to customize things, furious. Still I like the concept, the story and the possibilities it gives you. it has potential to be a creepy, cozy renovation game for people who enjoy such things. First off, I played with german translations. This is nothing that hurts people, BUT if your english is not the yellow from the egg, it might throw you off as the Font used for the subtitles does not include special characters (ä,ö,ü,etc.) and just leaves a big open space. It might make things a bit confusing when you follow the story, but it is managable. Still as feedback for accessebility I'd like to point it out, so it can be fixed one day. the game froze in the first 10 minutes of playing and there was no way progress or move.

Very fun game. I absoutly love it! It is a little broken in some places but its still enjoyable. Wish they would put more effort into fixing the issues it has for a newer game
