About Heartwood Heroes
Heartwood Heroes is a fast-paced board game RPG for up to 4 players featuring humorous quests, quick turn-based combat and multiple-choice events. Play locally or online with Steam Remote Play - only one copy of the game is required. Work both together and against your friends as you race to complete randomly branching scenarios!
Explore - Travel the board to flip tiles, uncover locations and meet "helpful" characters.
Hero of the Week - Solve quests and battle monsters to earn experience points. When the final boss is defeated, whoever has the most experience wins! If you fall too far behind, a kindly snake will help you out.
Light RPG elements - Customize your character's looks and equip yourself with weapons, armor, accessories and spells. Raise your stats and have followers tag along to probably help you win.
Get a job - Choose from over 20 jobs such as Delinquent, Scam Artist, Diva and Super Hunk. Each one grants a set of skills to help you fight, earn money and equipment, and/or go really fast.
Heroic battles - Take part in speedy turn-based battles against a throng of colorful foes. Join other players' fights to get a share of the experience! Even if you're knocked out, you'll be back on your feet in no time.
Replayable scenarios - Between the random quests, events, shops, job market, and the board itself, no two matches are the same. Who knows what twists the story will take next?
Quick play - One game can be completed in 1-2 hours.
Customize - Fiddle with the game rules and board randomization, or make your own quests and characters via the Steam Workshop.

This game seems to have been largely made with the Steam Workshop in mind, which is great, but sadly there wasn't much traction with it. I actually really love this game, and have indoctrinated several of my non-video-game-playing family members into loving it. Also, Ludosity's writing is always a joy. I can very much recommend this game, but I will also say that hey you should make some stuff for the workshop. I should get back to what I was making for the workshop.3 found this helpful
I loved every second of it2 found this helpful
Like a condensed version of Dokapon Kingdom with even more whimsy. Just a good time with friends locally or through Remote Play.1 found this helpful
whish it had a bigger community and really good content in mods etc. - the game is great for a coop evening w friends. we all really liked it. too bad theres no more content coming
(Played on couch-coop, 2 players, with xbox controllers.) This party game has some fresh originality the kind I have not seen in a while. In short : it's some kinda of JRPG-board game hybrid, with humor (and monsters) straight from the Ittle Dew universe. If you're intrigued by the concept, then please do try it! Some people say it's the mario party of jprg, yes I can see why they would say that. This game sometimes feels like a crazy prototype. It's certainly an original idea, and I want to try all the scenarios. It's not easy on the first try, you might need a few attempts at first. We sure did, we played this with 2 players. This game has a workshop, but I actually don't see a lot of workshop items! I don't think this game is very popular, that's too bad, and that makes it an actual and literal hidden gem. EDIT : i wanted to add a bit. I recently played Dokapon Kingdom. Obviously the games have similarities, but Heartwood Heroes is soooo much better. For one, Heartwood Heroes emphasizes cooperation, when Dokapon straight up prevents it. The writing in Heartwood Heroes is definitely much more fun, if you're into its style (which I am) And Heartwood Heroes is more respectfu…
