Herding Dog

Funny casual game. I mostly bought it because I'm a sucker for German Shepherds and give the dev 10/10 making a game highlighting their original breed purpose. It had it's oddities and quirks but overall was playable. Honest points of review: The PC mechanics were not my favorite and had I not been able to hook up my Xbox controller I may not have pushed through the game play. The music is hilarious the first time you hear it, but it quickly becomes very repetitive and may haunt you in your sleep. The game starts out pretty easy but fortunately it builds and later there is some challenge and skill required, later levels took some planning to achieve without my animals being beamed up by the UFO's. Sadly this game no longer seems to have dev support and there are some crashes and bugs, several of the achievements are bugged and unobtainable. I tacked this on to another purchase from my wishlist during a sale and would say that's when to buy. It may not be for everyone but I enjoyed my play though.

This game has potential but the controls are garbage and the dev has abandoned the game with 3 broken (impossible to get) achievements.

If this were an early access game then there may be some hope. As it is, Herding Dog is a nice idea that just doesn’t deliver. The only reason to purchase this would be if you have an uncontrollable urge to play games about dogs. And even then, you aren’t likely to get a lot of joy out of this.
