About Hex.Plan.X
The Hex Planet Experiment : A research outpost has been experimenting with automation but something went wrong. Now machines and organic material are corrupted. Most inhabitants cower in underground shelters and need urgent medical attention. Some have vehicles and try to help, go about their normal business, or take advantage of the situation for their own benefit. Military and emergency vehicles do their best to regain control but are outnumbered. You are sent to tip the balance, restore order and rescue the injured.
The research facility has six main areas joined by pathways with service areas where you can recharge, deposit goods and get medical help for humans. You can only move between way-points so choose your route with care and manage your energy use.
The object is to destroy all the mechanical ants that have taken over the facility. You are also tasked with rescuing as many humans as possible - they will follow you if they see you or if you call them. There are goods and tokens that can be picked up if they are within range. Some goods can be sold at deposit points and if you sell enough you might get an upgrade! Other goods are contraband – they are valuable, but can only be deposited in criminal controlled areas and holding them is illegal.
Other vehicles are present in the facility. Ambulances may pick up humans. Police patrol some areas and will become aggressive if provoked or if you choose to carry contraband goods. Military vehicles help to attack enemy creatures but don’t pick a fight with them unless you want trouble. Some civilian vehicles are active and may also attract human followers or pick up goods - some may be aggressive and greedy.
A top-down, retro-style, sci-fi shooter and strategy game that's unashamedly full of old-school gaming cliches. Best played with a twin stick controller but can also be played as point-and-click with a mouse. Enjoy!

An experiment has gone wrong at a research outpost and surviving people are living in underground bunkers and shelter facilities. Many are injured and need urgent medical attention in all areas. The research facility has six main areas, which are connected by paths to service areas. You choose one of the routes with vehicles to collect important resources for survival and survival, but be careful as you use up stamina in the form of energy. So you have to make your choice wisely. Of course, it's not just energy that's the problem, there are opponents standing in our way. This time our opponents are machines in the form of mechanical ants. The goal is to destroy all mechanical ants that have taken over the facility. Love this game! cool retro style graphics, easy to pick-up shooter game, not played long enough to figure out the strategy side - definitely easier to play with a twin stick controller3 found this helpful
This is a very good game. I enjoy it quite a bit, although the game is in some desperate need for in game prompts.Hex.Plan.X has full controller support, and with all the flaws, find it quite addicting. Your character rescues friendlies, attacks enemies, has to always have enough energy to survive the next fight, so your character has to go from base to base staying close to the base to recharge because if you stray too far, your enemy will die because you'll run out of energy. One of the main objectives is to pick up contraband, but I can't figure out where to drop off the contraband. I feel like an arrow would help in this situation or a popup that would let me know I dropped off the contraband. I believe the drop off is inside the bases, although I'm not really sure. The in game prompt says to use the TR button, although in the US, we only recognize LT and RT for left and right triggers. Hex.Plan.X could also benefit from a continue system, as I'm always starting off from the start after I die. It may be that I have to finish the first map to receive a continue. Discovered this little gem. I love the retro graphics but upgraded if that makes any sense. The sounds bring me back to my youth playing games in a actual arcade. Worth spending the time and once you get the hang of it you will get great satisfaction from this game.1 found this helpful
