My journey into Homam: An Inventor's Fist began with genuine intrigue. The pixel art showed promise for an unknown studio, hinting at something unique. The core concept – solving physics-based puzzles by creating stones to navigate levels against the clock – is undeniably interesting and has solid potential. However, that initial intrigue quickly faded under the weight of significant shortcomings. The game feels distinctly unfinished and rough around the edges, particularly where it matters most: the physics and level design. What should be the satisfying core loop becomes frustrating due to unpolished mechanics and questionable design choices. The most glaring issue is the completely broken progression system. Earning stars for level completion (based on time, breaking crates, and collecting fruit) seems impossible. HOMAM is a clever blend of puzzle-solving and skill-based aiming. The art style is beautiful, and the world feels thoughtfully designed. The game-play is fun and challenging — your speed and score really depend on how well you solve each puzzle and optimize your shots. My aim could use some work, so I’ve been struggling a bit, but it's still a rewarding experience.1 found this helpful
Played the game for my channel, great puzzle platformer that will have you pull your hair out. The designer cleaned up a bunch of small nit-picks I had so I recommend you give it a shot!
Homam is a unique and accessible platformer. Playing the game involves a mix of jumping across platforms and utilizing your unique core mechanic: the ability to create rocks and hurl them at things. Whether you want to carefully fling objects one at a time, or hurl 10 in quick succession, the choice is yours! The art style is unique and pleasant to look at. Many of the objects are very intricate looking while many platforms and buildings have interesting geometric patterns decorating them. The combination of unique mechanics, interesting yet fair puzzles, and pleasant atmosphere makes this definitely worth trying!
