HOROS - Magnifica

Fantasy settings are highly appealing when applied correctly to adult games and Horos - Magnifica does a great job in this regard. Firstly this game is not a visual novel but rather a text RPG with character level ups, random combats that require you to use both conventional weapons as well as magic. The MC's armor and sword are practically a replica of Gerlat of Rivia in the Witcher 3 Wilde Hunt and he suffers from amnesia that makes him forget his real name along with his past, yet the MC's character and background story is nothing like Geralt of Rivia and as you progress through the story you get to like him and the world created. This game has been remastered using AI which has made it better looking than its original version but unfortunately the animations look like the characters are constantly out of breath which is truly a bad design choice. The developer knows that making a character look alive by giving them ridiculous breathing animations that make them feel like they are hyper ventilating is a bad design choice which is why their upcoming DLC offers realistic animations for all characters. There are a lot of adult NSFW "games" on here, that claim decision and RPG based driven story, and after my experience, most fall short of expectations or basic claims, but not Horos and it's devs - I can say that the art, dialog, and options are top tier, and while it's not super animated or streamlined (if you're wanting a customized movie, this isn't it), it is polished and stylish enough to not take you out or be distracted by/of the story or characters, and your decisions do matter (I'd say replayable 3 times) - all this, at a pretty good value, so why not check it out! Thanks to the devs for continuing to care about the game, give it updates, pad things out, and add the new expansion! You took the time, energy, and planning to have made a very good game and piece of art! Thank you!

Wow. Just wow. Whoever it was that wrote the story for this needs to take writing lessons. The interactions between the characters are horrid and the response selections are garbage. Just about every scene the MC is in shows him with the "I'm constipated and it hurts" look and he is someone you can't feel anything good for, or toward, and you start to hope he is nothing more than a ruse and the actual likable, or even slightly likable MC with soon show up and replace this spawn child of an ogre and bigfoot. I myself find this AVN RPG to be a giant cluster F**k. I'm at a loss when it comes to finding anything good say about this game. I do wish Lesson of Passion the best. This is just one mans view of the game. I speak for myself only.

Not impressed.

This one drew me in, it has to be said I enjoyed the various questlines and stories of the various women and finding out how to add people to your team for the end fight against the boss, the plot and story was good but I wasn't a major fan of the amnesia arc but I get it was necessary to be a big reveal at the end - I just thought it could've been handled a lot better. Also the RNG Fights could use a lot of revision and work, finding that dragon took me a good chunk of my playtime going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth - I did it more than the MC's Shaft I think... So frustratingly difficult to find. THE DLC was fun though, that was very welcomed, the new plot and ending criterion were varied enough to justify its price tag. Well worth a playthrough! Plus there's like 14 endings at this point.
