AAAAMAZING. BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS. WONDERFUL GAMEPLAY. NO INVISIBLE WALLS, NOR INVISIBLE JAVELINS. WOULD RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE.3 found this helpful
The best AAA title of 2024. Absolutely no competition. The storyline, graphics, characters and the many hundreds of locations makes the game an absolute masterpiece. Better than Witcher or Dark Souls.2 found this helpful
Would I recommend this game? No, not really. At least in this current state. I like what the JAMK students were going for and think this could be a, well if not good then at least decent short game/tech demo IF they decided to patch it in the future or continue developing this. The potential is there. + The few pieces of music I heard were great! I'm a sucker for nordic dark folk so easy points for the devs there. + PERKELE! The protagonist really sounds angry, good job there. +/- The graphics were awesome (I strongly suspect using readily available assets though) - The game doesn't tell you what is going on, the why the who the what etc. You the player have to read the story from the Steam page to kinda know what is going on. - Would guess that pressing ESC gives me some kind of menu to change settings, like lower the music volume, but no. - The controls or symbols aren't explained in any way (not sure if main menu settings had explanation, didn't look too long there) - The first loading screen had a typo: "plce" instead of "place" and crafting was mentioned, but then I didn't need to even craft anything. - The boss bugged out, just staying in place attacking in one direction s…2 found this helpful
"Hunted: Kalevala" well, every now and then Finland steps up to try show Russia that they don't have a monopoly on garbage asset flips. And while some effort may have gone into trying to slap together a game with other people's assets here, based on Finnish folklore, at the end of the day the quality is the same as you expect from other asset flip shovelware. Sure, it looks like a reasonable attempt at a first person action RPG-lite, but the clunky mess is awful to play. The only really notable thing here is the developer forgot to slap a price tag on it... and that's really not great. How are you supposed to get paid for other people's game assets if you don't charge money for them? The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and this clunky mess is a testament to that. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expe…1 found this helpful
The game dosent tell you any story etc. The game IS just go to Forest and some mob kills you. You can Make a game like this on your own dont need a full team to do so.
Before I played Hunted: Kalevala, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
