About Intergalactic Taxi Co.

A chill puzzle game, IN SPACE!

In the distant future, the citizens of the galaxy yearn for excitement, for adventure, for exploration… for public transportation! And you’re just the enterprising humanoid to give it to them! Travel across a colorful, stylized galaxy in your state of the art space taxi as you pick up and drop off passengers - just be sure to keep an eye on your fuel, and watch out for aliens!

Inspired by Mini Metro and chill puzzle games like Islanders, Intergalactic Taxi Co. is a casual, turn-based puzzle game with levels lasting just a few minutes each. The core gameplay is easy to understand, but later levels will still prove challenging even for die-hard puzzle fans. However, hints are always available for players that need them. So buckle your seatbelt and hit the road! (Metaphorically; there are no roads in space).

Features

  • 100 levels of brain-tickling puzzles.
  • Bite-sized gameplay. Levels take ~1-5 minutes each.
  • Challenging, but accessible. Later puzzles can get tricky, but you can always get a hint.
  • Varied mechanics. New obstacles and power-ups will make you change the way you approach each level.
  • Cute lil' aliens!

Developed and published by Rocking Donkey Games, Intergalactic Taxi Co. takes an unexpectedly charming concept and builds an entire puzzle experience around it. Instead of commanding fleets or engaging in interstellar warfare, players assume the role of a cosmic cab driver tasked with transporting passengers between planets. It is a premise that immediately stands apart from the crowded landscape of indie space games, embracing a lighthearted identity while focusing on strategic gameplay. Beneath its cheerful presentation lies a carefully designed series of challenges that reward patience, planning, and efficient decision-making. The game's biggest strength is its commitment to a singular idea. Every level revolves around navigating a miniature galaxy, collecting passengers, and ensuring they arrive at their destinations without exhausting available fuel. What begins as a straightforward exercise in movement gradually evolves into a satisfying puzzle loop. Players must evaluate routes, prioritize pickups, and think several steps ahead before making a move. Fuel serves as both a limitation and a source of tension, transforming every successful delivery into a small victory. The gam…

This is a great puzzle game about driving passengers to different planets with limited resources. The taxi has limited fuel and only carries four passengers at a time to the requested destination. The player has to ensure that the fuel is sufficient to drive all the passengers to their intended planets. The game is more interesting when it shows random feedback or ratings from the alien passengers after every level. There are 100 levels, and hints are given if the player is not sure where to start, but it's only available at the beginning of the level. I wish the taxi would be highlighted at the beginning of the level because it's difficult to locate the source as there are more planets on the screen. I think the number of levels is too long, especially when it comes to the part where the driver needs to operate both the car and the bus simultaneously. The other minor issue is the display of the game didn't fit perfectly well if playing on the controller. It's not a big issue, as the game is still playable, with the relevant settings still visible on the screen.

I enjoyed this puzzle game for what it's worth. Each level presented a problem based on graph theory though masked in an intergalactic theme and a few tweaks here and there. With 100 levels at its disposal, it seized the opportunity to introduce in due time a few twists, some quirky achievements and questionable 5 star reviews (I didn't do that well... did I?). The difficulty system was also well balanced with a hint system at hand that gave out so many to the point of giving you the level already solved. One gripe I noticed is that there's no undo button that doesn't reset to the beginning. A couple of times I misclicked a planet and had to start from the beginning remembering some of what I had just done. Also, more space tracks would be nice as well, but for how many they are asking for, I'm in no position to complain. Give this one a try if you're into the traveling salesman problem. This won't be as hard though.
