iTownGamePlay UNIVERSE is a free-to-play adventure RPG that turns the world surrounding Spanish content creator iTownGamePlay into a playable fictional universe. Its mixture of internet culture, supernatural events, recognizable personalities, and straightforward RPG mechanics gives it an identity that is unusual even among smaller independent releases. The adventure begins when an otherwise normal day takes a strange turn and several subscribers become possessed by mysterious dark forces. Players assume the role of iTownGamePlay and travel alongside a group of Animatowners in an effort to discover what is happening and restore order. iTownGamePlay UNIVERSE is a strange little free RPG built around the Spanish YouTuber iTownGamePlay. I take control of the character and get pulled into a story where some of his subscribers have been possessed by dark forces. I can build my character up and move through the adventure while dealing with the different enemies and situations along the way. The game also has Steam achievements, which gives me a few extra things to work towards after finishing the main parts of the experience. I also like the silly tone of it. The idea of subscribers being possessed and the whole Animatowner concept gives the game a very internet focused personality. It is not trying to be a serious fantasy RPG, …
