Tinkertown plays very slow right from the start. Too slow imo. You move very slowly, you need to farm quite a bit of wood and stone to even get going for the first quest. I don't think doing the most boring part of the game for 30 minutes right at the start is very much engaging. I was expecting a tutorial on how to do things, but got nothing of the sorts. The game also doesn't tell you how to do anything, not how to craft, what to craft, what for to craft. It acts on a "figure it out" basis. So I craft random stuff, to see what else it unlocks. I wish I could see beforehand which Items need which buildings to be crafted etc. I played this solo, I think the game is designed to be played multiplayer, as everything constantly feels like it is too slow. You need to farm way too much stuff to craft very small things, you need to venture very far, which only makes sense, if there are loads of people building their homes. You have very small inventory space, meaning they want you to have multiple people carrying the loot. Like really, you got 25 slots and get like 30 things you need to carry. But because you need food and tools, you're using only 20 slots and need to cut out multiple th…9 found this helpful
When I first played the game really enjoyed it. After the Steamdeck stopped allowing my character to move around or access any of my menus, I put it down. Started playing it again after an update in 2026, and now I cannot do anything in the game at all. I will not recommend this game on Steamdeck until resolved.3 found this helpful

Absolutely broken. Some people said they tried to contact the devs and got no response.. As soon as you see that, you should know to look away. I got this awhile ago, and wanted to get all achievements, but my GOD was it a struggle. I had a world already and tried to take my old character that I forgot about into a new world on a singleplayer and the first time I tried.. it crashed. Second time, I couldn't move. Third time I had to chat with the NPC and wait for him to walk by to be able to actually click anything on the screen. Overall, way too buggy. Would not recommend.

I love this game ngl. I have most of my playtime on the Xbox version but still this game really surprised me after a few hours of sticking with it. The town building mechanics of every npc needing their own house and upgrades, I found really enjoyable. Also the farming and progression systems are really well implemented. Combat is rather simple and not difficult at all, but that didn’t really bother me. I found myself addicted nonetheless. For anyone who enjoys Terraria/core keeper or Minecraft style games, this is a no brainer. Tinker Lands is another amazing game akin to this.
