A very enjoyable Shmup/bullethell. Just sunk 2hrs on one sitting and as a free to play, I kind of wish there was a donation system of some sort. The upgrade system is pretty satisfying. Examples of the upgrades I enjoyed the most were getting one bigger or faster bullet every third bullet, point multipliers, random exploding bullets, weather effects also affecting enemies. Not all, but most of the power-ups/weapons feel pretty good to use. Thing that is tricky to get used to, for myself, is how quickly that weapon cycle is: you can cycle through like 2 to 3 weapons in a split second and none of them can be the one you need in that moment. But it is part of the game's DNA and charm in my opinion.

ITZO is a really strange little bullet hell game, and I mean that in a good way. I play as ITZO, a space agent who is supposed to stop an interplanetary conflict, except the solution is basically to destroy everything that gets in the way. I am flying through planets and shooting at enemies while trying to survive waves of bullets, bosses and ridiculous situations. The whole thing has a very old school arcade feel, but the amount of completely random ideas packed into it makes it feel much more playful than a serious space shooter. The biggest thing I like is the sheer amount of weapons and ships. There are more than 25 ships and over 75 weapons, and the game is not shy about making them weird. Alongside normal guns I can end up using things like popcorn, apples, hooks, rocks, lightning, paint and other completely ridiculous weapons. Some ships are equally strange, including ones made from junk or shaped around things like skeletons and ducks. I like experimenting with all of this because it means I am not simply trying to find one weapon that is obviously better than everything else. The game encourages me to mess around and see what works. The upgrade system is also pretty fun.…
