This is a solid combination of turn-based combat, deck-building and roguelite. I am about 20 hours in at the time of writing and estimate there is at least that much more in front of me, assuming no new content is added. The core of the game are thoughtful card-based, turn-based battles. These are set within Slay the Spire-like branching node stages, with options for battles, events and shops on the way to a stage-boss. Complementing the deck building is a lite RPG development feature. You can develop your character within each run to favour physical damage, elemental damage, energy generation, health, defence and more via how you assign stats. It is simple, but adds a dimension to complement deck building and card play absent from most similar games. You can freely deck build anytime out of combat, with a minimum deck size of 20. Your options for including and removing cards simply increase throughout a run. It is never very complex, but you can choose what to favour, and it is feasible to reduce down to a slim deck. A big novelty here is that rather than having a single deck, you have three (most of the time). One deck of "Special" cards that are typically one-use per ba…3 found this helpful
4/5 neoroguelike card battler. Cute and pretty graphics, only a couple of minor bugs. I like all the different realms and elemental spell types. Progression was initially confusing, but then made sense to me. Can save and quit at any point, a very good feature compared to several other card battlers I've played recently. I just today beat the space boss and have not yet tried the infinite game yet. Would have been more fun with more individual character development and a wider variety of weapons. The devs have been changing things recently, so it might actually progress more. recommended for those looking for turn-based, slow paced, repeat-play ('neo roguelike') necessary to progress through the story and improve the (always new) 'hosts' for your spirit...2 found this helpful
A game that hooks you almost instantly, with a really cool concept centered around being surrounded by enemies and playing cards in multiple directions. There’s a ton of content here, with traits, elements, events, and lots of different card types to experiment with. The elemental regions are especially interesting: each one has its own challenges and helps you expand your playstyle by permanently unlocking new cards. The only downside is that you’re not very encouraged to replay the same region multiple times in a row. There’s a fatigue system that makes runs harder, but it doesn’t quite give you enough reason to stick with it.2 found this helpful
I just started playing the game and i am having a great time. I like the UI and the mechanics of the game and the very challenging aspect of it.2 found this helpful
The game throws you into chaotic battles from all sides, where every card choice matters. You can choose to draw from three decks: Standard, Special, and Resource, and on top of that, mix nine elemental types. The node-based maps, Slay the Spire-like, are great for keeping runs varied, with battles, events, shops, and brutal bosses. My only wish: being able to start regions with a personal prebuilt deck. It would give a stronger sense of a character and more control over the experience. Still, challenging, rewarding, and hard to put down. A must play for any roguelike deckbuilder fan for sure. Give it a try!1 found this helpful
I wouldn't recommend this at full price 14.99 seems steep to me, maybe it has a lot of depth to it, not played it much yet but if like me you pick it up for under a 5er then 100% i'd recommend it. Cute, clean art style i love. Simple yet effective strategy system that is fresh to me (prob since i dont play many mobile games) i imagine this could be common on mobile. The rest is your classic roguelike deck builder elements.1 found this helpful
