What Steam players say

Players appreciate that Joy Pony is back on sale as a simple virtual pet simulator, but are disappointed by several issues: the removal of original characters from achievements, lack of meaningful progression or milestones, and a punishing economy where players must grind extensively or spend premium currency (rubies) to revive dead pets. Some report technical problems like ads not displaying and crashes when trying to claim rewards, which frustrates players who invested time in their virtual companions.

WARNING: EVIL SCAM GAME THAT WILL DESTROY YOUR CHILD!! My child was bugging me to get this game after watching a YouTube video so after doing some searching I purchased it but there were immediate problems.. first my child excitedly created the pony and started caring for it. Then after a few minutes my child came crying to me that the pony was dead! I went to help and there was no way to revive the dead pony.. apparently just dragging the pony around will kill it and you need 10 rubies to revive it and there is no way to get them because if you click on watch ad to get rubies there is no ad that pops up and if you click the gift box that is apparently supposed to give you someone, the game crashes! Every time! So now I am not only worried this game will harm my laptop but my child is crying absolutely devastated that the pony is dead and can't be resurrected. You can only create a new pony if you have 700 coins and it takes forever to mine just a couple coins at once.(And honestly I wouldn't doubt if this too is broken) My child got tired trying to do this and was crying tears all over my computer. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it won't let you start ove…4 found this helpful
Joy Pony, developed and published by Dio Alias Games, is a title that immediately stands out not because of its gameplay depth or innovation, but because of how sharply it contrasts expectation with reality. At first glance, it presents itself as a simple virtual pet simulator centered around raising and caring for a small pony. The premise suggests something lighthearted and routine—feeding, cleaning, and nurturing a creature over time. However, it quickly becomes clear that the experience is not built to fulfill that comforting fantasy, but rather to disrupt it in ways that feel deliberately unsettling. The gameplay itself is extremely straightforward. You are given control over a pony that requires basic care, and your interactions revolve around maintaining its needs through simple actions. There are no complex systems to learn, no layered mechanics, and no meaningful progression beyond keeping the creature alive and responsive. Compared to other virtual pet simulations, it lacks the sense of growth or attachment that typically drives engagement. Instead of gradually expanding into new features or challenges, the experience remains static, offering little variation as time goe…2 found this helpful
This is not the version of Joy Pony/Pocket Pony/Home Pony/Pony Pet Hospital (wow this game goes by a lot of different names) with the torture game elements, this is the sfw version. That aside it's the same gameplay as it's always been. There's no goal in Joy Pony just taking care of your pony or not, the choice is really yours. Wish the achievements weren't basically filler and actually represented different milestones you can reach in the game like the pony reaching different ages, dying, buying a certain amount of stuff from the shops that kind of thing.1 found this helpful
I accidentally slammed my beautiful pony against the wall really hard a couple of times and it died. They start you with 100 coins and it takes one second of active clicking to make one coin. It's 700 coins to make a new pony. Refunded.1 found this helpful
