Kaiju Klash

This game is pretty good

[h1]★★★★☆[/h1] This is a fun little turn-based combat game where you create a monster out of an assortment of parts. Think Medabots when it comes to building your monster, you choose a set of arms, legs, and a torso/head for the monster, each has its own ability or attack that can be used. The gallery on Steam doesn't show it much, but the combat of the game is a normal turned-based game. The game is quite easy but it isn’t without complexity. The combat has a rock-paper-scissors dynamic similar to that of Pokemon where certain types are strong against other types. Additionally, you get some monster parts that require 2 AP in order to be used, so you need to spend a turn blocking in order to use that part's action, so there is some strategy when it comes to building your monster and how you go about combat. The game has a random Arena mode where you can set how many rounds you will go through in order to finish it, and then there’s a Career mode that you play through in order to unlock more parts and have a bit more of a tailored experience. Overall I really enjoyed the game, it takes about 2 hours to complete all of the content if you're just after getting everything unlocked…

[i]My Experience[/i] What first caught my eye about [b]Kaiju Klash[/b] was its lovely use of the comic sans font. I kid, I kid. I liked the idea of frankenstein-ing together a fighter out of the pieces of other monsters. [b]Kaiju Klash[/b] has a lot of cool opponents, like the Nanobots, the Electric Squid, or Gorillaborg. Whatever moves that these monsters have access to, you yourself can access by equipping the corresponding monster part. Although there are certain builds that seem effective against most enemies, you'll generally want to switch out a few parts to maximize your effectiveness in each fight. There is a "type" system that functions in a rock/paper/scissors fashion in terms of vulnerabilities and resistances. You'll generally find a couple of parts of each type that you enjoy, and then upgrade them as much as possible to maximize their effectiveness. I thought the abilities themselves were creative and fun to use. I felt that I had gotten my fill of the game after completing the career mode on the normal difficulty, but I'd definitely had enough fun at that point to justify the expense. it's a fun short game with a cute art style and a simple yet effectively engaging fight system. I really enjoyed the simple modular monster builder. I would recommend picking it up when its on sale. This is a game that could be a speedrunners next time sink. Final review Mecha mokne go stomp p.s. to the dev i would recommend getting in contact with a speedrunner youtuber and ask them to host a speedrun tournament for a cash prize or ask a speedrunner who does steam games in less then 2 hours to refund to try the game out.
