Key Escape is a series of single screen platformer challenges, decorated by springs, spikes, and moving parts. Though it's simple and cheap, the physics and out of sync platforms will test more patience than skill. Recommended only for completionists.
Please note that this review is intended to be informational, but since steam forces a rating, choosing positive on the basis of updated content and being fully functional. You're a key, and to escape, you need to collect locks. Wait, what? How does that even work? Don't think too hard about it, because the game doesn't do anything new with that premise. Time your jumps and navigate obstacles to reach the exit, like every platformer of the past. The game has a neat and clean pixel aesthetic, and the controls are very simple: Arrows to move, Z to jump. All you need is timing and precision to advance. A few mechanics are added along the way, like springs, spikes, cycling blocks, and falling blocks. Each stage is a one-screen challenge, free of any scrolling issues or complicated pathing. Level 51 is broken
This game sure was a precision platformer. I beat it in an hour, and half of that playtime was probably on the last "real" level. Landing all the necessary jumps was frustrating throughout (but isn't that kinda the fun of precision platformers?), but the game never felt unfair. Then that platforming frustration got turned up to 11 at the end, and I knew I just had to beat it. One of those games that's a little bit of fun, if precision platformers are your cup of tea. Just some good, simple fun!
Just change the key position of this game.

Key escape is a very intuitive platform game, who really knows how to merge the difficulty with the relaxation that it causes after beating each level, the level design is extremelly well throught, it's incredible how the few of diferent blocks make more and more a challenger room, and the track match wounderfully with the gameplay. BeJotah is a awesome dev, is clearly remarkable how much love he put in this project, I except more and more games like that. 10/10
