About Knights of the Temple: Infernal Crusade
This title has already been published in 2004 and was considered the highlight of the year at the time. Now it is available on Steam for the very first time.
You are Paul de Raque, a Knight Templar on a journey to the Holy Land with the goal to reunite with his Order in Jerusalem. But you are more than just a common crusader - you are on a holy mission. The future of the world and all mankind rests on your shoulders…
Using the weapons of a medieval knight you must fight your enemies, humans and demons alike, to prevent unspeakable evil from being victorious and hell from conquering earth.
You fight against the hordes of darkness with sword, axe, bow and shield. Your crusade leads you through Europe and the Holy Land, against warriors, assassins and minions of hell. You must thwart the dark plans of evil at all costs and find a sacred relic from ancient times.
The focus of the game is on the battle with authentic weapons of Medieval Times in the dark world of the 12th century, which was painstakingly recreated with great effort in graphic design and detail.

Unplayable out of the box. FPS goes through the roof even with V-sync on and 'limited' to 60 and gameplay is in 'flash' mode - everything is VERY VERY VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY fast :\ another reason to buy retro games on GOG :\6 found this helpful
Recently played this again (finished it this time) and same as back then, I can still say this feels a little bit like a successor to Enclave (2002), but much more straightforward and simplified. I suppose they didn't have enough budget for a proper sequel to Enclave (which they actually announced by the way) and opted for something simpler instead. It's made in the same engine and you can see assets from Enclave. The combat is simple, you have a melee weapon and a bow. More melee weapons can be found as you progress, but for the most part you'll just want to use the latest one that you found because it'll be the most powerful one. There's also different combo moves that you'll learn throughout the game, but again, mostly you'll just want to spam the best one. Game's fully linear. Locations look good but they are definitely not as imaginative or varied as in Enclave. Interestingly, this game has a sequel developed by a different company. I played it as well many years ago, it was more open than the first game and had some RPG elements and a quest system, but the implementation was awkward. It was also pretty buggy. It had its charm though, and I remember as a kid I was even very…3 found this helpful

I used to play this game as a kid on playstation 2. Amazing game, and the game-music is in the class of masterpiece. This game REQUIRES a REMASTER. Knights of the Temple II by Developer Cauldron was a let down. Starbreeze studios should recognize their masterpeice and continue to work on a series themselves. 10/10 would re-play this game over and over.3 found this helpful
A very poorly made game that aged even poorer. In order to play the game on modern systems, dgVoodoo 2 is *required*, as well as Steam's built-in controller emulator if you wanna play with a controller. The combat is extremely clunky. You have a block button, but blocking doesn't stagger enemies, so your best course of action in 99% of scenarios is to just button mash and hope for the best, since the enemy AI will just relentlessly attack your block. And since your attacks don't stagger either, you'll just end up trading blows with enemies until one of you goes down. And the boss design. How awful the boss design is. Because obviously Starbreeze had to give bosses unblockable attacks in a game with no dodge button. Genius design. Don't let the "very positive" review score fool you into buying this game. These positive reviews are from people blinded by childhood nostalgia.1 found this helpful
unplayable on modern PCs due to a "running fast" bug that forces the entire game into hyper-speed
